I have a long way to go. Have the nose to do, and the tail, but how is this looking for my first attempt at a real repaint? I am using a picture from Airliners.net

OK So I had to start from scratch as I had that first one all out of whack, and the delta sign was hidden by the wings, the numbers on the landing gear covers was in the wrong place, and the Delta Connection font was too big. I think Im getting it better. here is the actual pic from airliners.net and the repaint I am doing so far:

That tail is going to be fun. Im going to "freehand" draw the ASA.

The Plane number and the wheel fonts are a bit off, but I could not find a good match, and this was about as close as I could get, the lettering is a bit too far spaced, and I did a little too much red on the front but Im not too worried about that

Comments? Grin

Still looking good, good luck with the freehand of the ASA logo, that will keep you busy for a few hours

also the plane number and the number on the wheel flaps, look a bit too bold, try using standard font, if you already used standard font, try getting the font size spot on, without the need to resize, and also what program are you using?

Maiden flight N530AS

Completed livery. My first one! Had to draw the ASA on both sides basically pixel by pixel (around the "S") so it isnt perfect, but Im proud of it Grin

Lookin good Savas!!, nice shots too.

The ASA shouldn't be so hard, just do A  A in red then kinda block fill inbetween these with red.  Then create a new layer and put the S on this layer over the top.  Move around till your happy where it is then merge layers and save as ASA logo.  Took me a while to use layers but once I got used to those things are a lot easier.

Agreed, don't see the hard in "ASA" at all.

Yes Im a newb, but plan on becoming a veteran soon.

I played around and made a virtual Orcas Airlines livery with the ATR for my Orcas Island scenery that turned out pretty decent Smiley

Repainting is quite enjoyable. I just need to figure out how to copy from a photo and repaint it to the template

Layers dude Layers!!!

You can cut a logo for example from a picture.  Paste as new image and save so u have it for future reference.  Then copy that image and paste as new layer (in psp7 anyhow)  With layer properties you can make it a bit more transparent, but also coz its on its own layer you can alter the colour, darkness, lightness etc etc

Looks like your doing pretty good to me though!
