Hello gang'
     Just a quickie if I may. Now I have split CFS and CFS2 into WW1, Europe, Med, Pacific, Russia,USS Arkon, Manhatten Project etc. to cut down on large "Aircraft" folders, can I remove the included entries. I have nearly finished giving each plane it's own panel and sound folders so the included jobbies aren't needed for them.
     It's murder seeing my WW1 lists bunged up with Ju88s, Corsairs, B17s et al but CFS2, especially, gets right out of it's pram if I remove them.  Any ideas please?

Many thanks in advance.
Graham. G.B.

Yes, I have a similiar setup and it works just fine, just make sure you have an appropriate qc_planes.qcb file made up for each system otherwise cfs2 will continue to look for the stock planes in your WwI setup and others.

It depends what you use CFS for but I wouldn't recommend it. Default aircraft are often used in 3rd party missions. There's a file posted somewhere that converts the default flyable aircraft to show up as a WWI type. I haven't tried it & can't remember if this is for CFS1 or CFS2. It should be possible to convert most of the default flyable aircraft into AI Only drones so they don't show up on the selection menu. I believe there's at least one "master" aircraft in both sims that can't be modified or removed.

I think there is only one way to get rid of them that I have heard. I have not tried this my self. But I beleive the program only reads the names of the aircraft folders. Perhaps you can delete the content of the stock planes folder and insert or copy and paste the information from whatever WW1 plane you like into them. Maybe this will solve your problem . Its not perfect but its better than having to see does Pacific planes when you really want to see WW1 planes in  that CFS2 install. If this method works please let us know. Thank you James007

To remove the stock aircraft from an install where you don't want them simply edit the mdlnames.txt file (in the main CFS2 directory) and delete the line that contains the AC you dont want.

Example, to remove the Corsair delete this line:

"F4U1A_Corsair"=Vought F4U-1A Corsair

Now you can delete the Corsair folder from the aircraft folder.

Just remember that many 3rd party AC's use the stock panels and or sounds so you will have to deal with that.
