Somewhere above the Baltic Sea
...

...

Preparing for our descent into Helsinki - Vantaa. The Weather is calling for a surface wind coming from the northwest at around 15kts which is not a problem. But there are windshear warnings on the runway so if we do get a wind shear warning we will analyze the situation and Go-around if necessary. If we were 30mins later the front would've passed Helsinki already and the wind conditions would be milder aswell...but we'll be fine  Smiley
...

Entering the pattern over Helsinki, the airport is straight below us, as you can see. Our STAR, LEDU2A will lead us to runway 22L.
...

Finals for 22L! The aircraft was twitching and wobbeling quite violently during the last 500ft. The weather gurus were right  8)
...

Touchdown at 09.51 local time!
...

Thanks for flying Finnair, have a nice day and we look foward to see you soon!
...

Thanks for taking the time to watch the story  Smiley

Whee, scandinavian transit flights are simply unbeatable. Just take care that you don't run over a rusty An-24 (that'd be me then Grin).

Well, I don;t own the ATR, but by the looks of the panel screen shot, I can see the Flight Director indications on the HSI (Horizontal Situation Indicator). What I just noticed (maybe he cut it off when cropping) was I can't find the Turn and Bank coordinator. How can you tell if your turns are coordinated in this thing?

Oh, I just noticed the rop right of the panel had all the auto-pilot controls, and some of them are on...... Just the flight director? Or do we need to practice our ILS approaches?   Grin

Of course the ATR comes with an autopilot, capable of CAT II approaches if I'm not mistaken?

Anyways here is the Autopilot panel
...

Slip indicator is right below the EADI. AP engagement is announced on the bottom left of the same display. But like I said earlier, the turbulence threw the aircraft around like a ragdoll, so the FD was pretty useless during the approach  Smiley
