Hi all,I just installed my new Creative Labs Audigy ES,which I picked up off of NewEgg: www.newegg.com ....and FS2004 is a completly different beast now. I'm getting 55-60 FPS just barely moving my joystick, and 80-100+ when I  really get moving. In short,I'm blown away by the difference that installing a real soundcard(not onboard sound) makes in smoothness and speed. Oddly enough,my non-FS performance(desktop work, browsing via Firefox, playing mp3s) has also gone through the roof,in a good way.

My advice to you is leave the card in peace in your machine, don't remove it for any reason other than a board upgrade!

Why? I know of 7 people who've all had dead Audigy 2 cards after they've been removed for whatever reason, from their pc's, Why this happened, lord knows, all know how to handle electronic static unfriendly equipment......

I'd hate to see you become number 8!

That said, great cards when they work! I've stuck with my SB Live 5.1 card, and considering I use my headphones 90% of the time, I don't see the point of the extra outlay., an Audigy ES is going to be a big boost from the ld on-board sound! I hope you have the freedom from neigh - bores , to turn it up LOUD!

Enjoy it!  Grin

Hav'nt got a grudge against Audigy 2's - Honest!  I'm just unconvinced about the build quality of Creative soundcards from my experience with them. Cheesy  Kiss
