Hi,

I am trying to insert my own traffic files into the "triffic.bgl".  I am using a traffic tool which decomplies and complies the traffic.bgl so I can work on Flights.txt, Aircrafts.txt and Airports.txt.  Well I edit those texts by using a program called "yRoute".  This program coordinates all the flights and makes it easier to assign new flights.  My problem is I cannot see the effects of new traffic that I have created.  I compile those three txt files after my modifications and run FS again and creat a flight.  But I cannot see the effects.   What should I do to get the effects of my changes?  ??? ???

Few things to check...from your description I'm guessing your using 'Traffic Tools'.

Did you get any errors when compiling?

Have you confirmed that the traffic.bgl file has been updated? The file is located in the  ....\SCENEDB\ATC\Scenery folder. Check the 'date modified' column.

Have you de-compiled the new traffic.bgl to check that your new flights are indeed in there?

Is your traffic slider set at least as high as the % set in the flightplans.txt file for your new flights?

Are you going to the airport at the right time? The times in the flightplans.txt file are UTC, not your local time.

If your adding new planes to the aircraft.txt file are all AC#'s in sequence? Does the aircraft name match the title=xxx entry from the planes aircraft.cfg/[fltsim.x] section exactly (case sensitive)?

Cheers,
Dave

I am going to answer your questions in order.

Right, I am using "Traffic Tools" for de-compiling and compiling.

No, I didn't get any errors when compiling.

I have chacked the "traffic.bgl" file and it is up to date!

Yes, I have de-compilied my new traffic.bgl file to check if my new flights are indeed there and they are there!!!

No, my traffic slider is set less than the % set in my flightplans.txt.  Would this be the source of the problem?

Yes, I am going to the airport at right time(I guess) What is UTC?

Yes, my planes AC#'s are in sequence! I checked this many times.  And aircraft names match to title=xxx entry from the planes aircraft.cfg!

Thanks for your help.

Yes that could be the problem. Increase the slider to greater than that of your added flightplans.

To reduce the number of default  flights but still see your flights you can reduce the % in the flightplans and recompile. I generally set my new flight plans to 1%. That way i can filter out most all default flightplans with the slider if I wish.

UTC is 'Universal Time' and is also known as GMT (Greenwich Mean Time).

Cheers,
Dave

Well, my flights are still not seen.  I have tried it for both GMT and Local Times and set the slider to a greater percent than the % in my flight plans.  I am gonna be mad.  What am I doing wrong? I am sending you the text of my plans.  If you have time please check them for me.

Have you used AFCAD to add a control tower and parking to the airports you have in the flightplans, KEDW and KSUU?

In FS2002 AI traffic can only use airports that have traffic control and parking. By default these 2 airports, and indeed most or all military airports, do not.

Cheers,
Dave
