I bought Pacific Fighter the other day and have playing with it for quite a while. Iam loving it  and I think it eventually will be a great WW11 combat Simulator. It reminds me of when CFS2 first came out.

It has potential but at this time its not nearly as good as CFS2. Its water Texture is excellent . The Reflextion of Sun light obouve the the ocean water is breath taking. Your ability to communicate with orthers has been enhance. The sounds in general has been enhance as well.

The Dynamic campaings while it has been claim to bee more dynamic I have not notice it.  While the Ships are of better quality than before. Their AAA sound and reaction is not as enticing or realistic as in CFS2.

P.F. planes are
of of the highest quality . They are not us good as in FB but never  the less they still the best in the Market.
The Panels are fantastic.

The AI is vastly improve. In my opinion its the best AI in the Market at this momment.

Your ability to takeoff with other planes is a great improvement over CFS2. It gives you Immersing feel when flying off a carrier on a mission.

The Sceneries on the other hand are not nearly as good as the Panels.  The are a bit of a disappointment since I did extected it to bee quite better. The shore line are basically non existance .

The Forrest do not look or feel like Pacific Jungles. They look and feel like the ones in FB.

This are only a few of the observation I have made in the last few days. I am sure that with new  Patchest that will bee available in the future this Simulator will become a great one.

Thats does not mean I should give up CFS2. By no means I recommend that. Life has give us many options. You can enjoy a Vanilla ice cream a well as strawberry one if you want. Thats does not mean you have to give one up for the other. No matter how much they improve PT it be not be able to replace CFS2.

At fisrt CFS2 could be a very frustating Flight Sumulator. But once you understand its weakness and strenghth. Once you have install the improvements available through this and other great communities.
Then you learn to appreciate how this good WW11 Simulator really  is.

Through the genius of Microsoft of allowing members of the community to incorporate endless improvement to their hobby this Simulator life has been extended for years.

Now its its only their baby but our as well.  And if they ever give us the code . Who know where we will take it.

I recomment you buy PF as well. We need to support the Hobby . We need to give the developers the incentive to continue developing and improveving WW11 flight simulation.

Take my word PF will become in time great Simulator. My recommendation is to fly both . Enjoy both Simulator if possible. They are both great and its not like your betraying your loyalty to your country for another. Its only in the name of having fun thru a fantastic Hobby.

My only wish to you is that I hope you shoot down as many Axis planes as possible and be able back alive. That way you can make it to  your Mother dinner  in time.

Good Luck James007

Theres one thing putting me of from buying PF:

1, As you said the scenery dosen't convince me
2, my PC would die under the strain of running it
3, All the following patches of about 10+mb when your dail up isn't my cup of tea.

Apart from that i'd aggree it does look good.

IL2......does this mean we can blow up JAP aircraft carriers with IL2's Grin   KEWL

my gripe is NO TORPEDOES (cant handle that)

its taken ages for us to develope that for CFS2 and now with the angle of entry right we get good results

why, oh why, didnt OLEG really look at a PACIFIC war?????

seeing the whole strategy of the US was based on TBM 's HELLDIVERS and other dive bombers and torpedoe carrying planes
seems like a blaring ommission

i have supported and bought all of OLEGS creations so far

but this one seems like a "contractual obligation "to UBISOFT to me(and a bit of a ripoff to his fans)

from the outhouse
http://www.hexus.net/content/reviews/review.php?dXJsX3Jldmlld19JRD05MDA=

hopefully after a dozen or so patches it will become great
(and it probably will)
but i will be hanging on to my 75$ AUD for the moment

and go and concentrate on modifying and fine tuning CFS2

along with a hell of a lot of  others

CFS2 just gets better and better because of a dedicated
community and the fact that we can "roll our own".

if MICROSOFT gave birth to the baby, then we are" taking care of the teenager"

my 2cent

cheers

personally ... I haven't seen much of the game, and I have no interest in buying it...

#1. Microsoft has pleased me so far with their flight simulators ... I mean, Look at FS9 it's graphics are amazing  Shocked can you imagine what CFS4 will look like?  8)

#2. I don't have the money to go out and buy games anymore ... so I come to Sim-Viation to add-on air craft to CFS2 to keep my interest in it alive ...

#3. I could almost garuntee I don't have the computer specs to run it ... I am currently contemplating up-grading.

Brandon
