I was browsing the other day to see whats new for CFS2. I went to a Website call Absquad. I have not been there for over a year. Boy was I suprise to so how many new improvement where available for downloads not only for CFS2 but also for CFS1. The best thing about them its that they all carry their own installation. In another word the arthur of each improvement was kind enough to include a installation program. You do not have to manually install any of them.

Be careful when installing anything to CFS2. The reason I say this it because in my experience its better to install one program at a time.  otherwise CFS2 may crash on you.

Remember to keep a backup to all the files in CFS2. That  way if you do not like the new improvement you can always go back and erase them.

You can find this and others great Websites in my Post called how  good is CFS2?.

I generally advise people to be very wary of these auto-install files. This might be hypocritical as some of my own files are configured to do just that. It's much safer to redirect the install path to a Temp folder & install the files manually. Then, if anything goes wrong (& it will) you know exactly where the files are cos you put them there yourself. Nobody should need an auto-install file to install a simple addon like a CFS2 aircraft. It only takes a few minutes to find out how to do it properly.

I Agree Hangar with your comments. I myself prefer to do it manually. Understand some people do not know how install things as you do. I accept that your mothod probably is the best way to do it. But their should always be options of on how you want to improve CFS2.   Thankyou Hangar

My only objective in writting this and other Posts is to demostrate on how much  you can improve CFS2 with all the help available through the hard work of other members. I want to Thank all the members of this great Website and the others for their  hard work and for making CFS2 a truly great Simulator.

It would a shame in my humble opinion to have all this work lost and not use for the benefit of all. After all most of you have work very hard to improve this Simulator .

One Website should not competing with the other. But instead they are all helping in Enhancing Our collective W11 flying experience. Thank you James007

Hi James. I might understand this more than you realise. I've spent most of my spare time over the last 5 years showing people how to install things properly. It's not difficult once you understand the basic principles. Check out the links in my sig some time.

As a CFS2 developer myself I thank you. Not too many people show their appreciation. It means a great deal when someone takes the time to send a little message of thanks. Wink

Except for newcomers I think most of the members here already know what can be done with CFS2. There's plenty of smaller sites out there that do great work with their own addons. These tend to come & go & unfortunately some don't last long. I remember the Absquad site from long ago. It's good to know they're still active.

I'm sure I speak for many of us simmers, but I really appreciate the hard work done by all the designers out there.  I used to be heavily into building model planes (plastics) but the prices are getting too high (I have a wife and kids to support) and with flight sims you can actuall fly the things!  Flight sims are a great way to relax and with all the addons available it seems like it never gets old.

Thanks again for all the great work!
