It was quite successful as a ground attack aircraft (four cannon in the nose) and as a low altitude interceptor. At low levels it was a remarkable aircraft being able to outmanuver everything up to and including the Spitfire. However it's engines were less than stella and as Merlins could not be fitted with out a fairly major redesign and with the introduction of the Mosquito, production was ceased and the aircraft was phased out in about 1943 I belive.
