Hi guys,

I recently installed WinXP SP2. This presented no problems. I run Zone Alarm Pro, which also gives me no trouble. About a week ago, I installed FSNAV and downloaded the SID/STAR data. I was on multiplayer at the time and it worked fine.

Since then I have been able to connect to Microsofts Zone, FS2002 free Flight page and see all the sessions.  when i join one and go to launch, it fails and I get the message "Could not connect to this session".

I uninstalled FSNAV and uninstalled and reinstalled FS2002. Still no joy.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

The Gunner

Turn off the internal XP firewall, it blocks the ports needed for MP.

XP firewall is already disabled.
I'm running a P4 3.06 gHz Intel Processor
1 Gb DDR Ram
Win XP Pro SP2
Norton Antivirus 2003 pro
Zone Alarm Pro
Spybot

Linksys Wireless Router
Internet connection is type: CABLE/DSL

Is there a possible link to the installation of FS NAV and this fault cropping up?

It's really the only thing that changed.

I have since uninstalled FS NAV as I mentioned in my original post, and reinstalled FS 2002

It's weird, cause I can connect to www.zone.com and enter the FS2002 room and see all the games, but if I join one - when I go to launch, there is a long delay and then the error message "could not connect to this session"

Driving me nuts!!!!!

I'll do a step by step later to see if I can isolate the fault.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give on this one.

Also it's worth mentioning - if for example someone is hosting an IP game and I decide to attempt to join through the  multiplayer window of FS 2002.

I enter the IP address and ensure that TCPIP is selected as the connection type and click on search.  It does not find anything. Just blank window. Now this used to work once.  So it's not just the MS Gaming Zone.

It might me your Norton antivirus. I leave my antivirus software running while I play MP, but it may be different for you.

You need to open the correct ports in both your router and ZA Pro. This includes any ports for coms and navigation programs.

See the Microsoft SUPPORT page for FS2002 you need the DX7 ports.

Hope this helps

cheers
