Dunno much about pentiums or mobos for pentiums so will leave that to someone else.

The HDD you chose is slow.  You want 7200rpm and an 8mb cache not 2mb

The graphics card you chose is not very good either.  Yes its cheap but it doesnt even fully support FS9

...

Take a look at this chart.  It would be off the bottom of this list!  Take your choice from one of these  Grin

Ram never heard of that make and I dunno how fussy Pentium mobos are on ram so cant comment.

AMD64 3500+ @ 2200MHz 400FSB&&MSI K8N Neo 2 mobo nForce3 chipset&&1gig Corsair XMS PC3200 timings @ 10.2.2.2 &&XFX 6800 Ultra @ 450/1200&&80gig HDD&&Loadsa fans!!!

Those links took FOREVER to load on my dialup connection, so I couldn't navigate them with much success, but it's apparent that you don't know enough about the technology to design a system.

You need to do a lot of research or ask for a specification.

That gear you plan on ordering will not work at all!  Roll Eyes

For a start, the CPU is a socket 775, and the mainboard is a socket 478.

The CPU simply wont fit the mainboard without using an Acme Pneumatic Persuasion Driver.

Here is a hint.... the cpu is fine. Click the CPU link you posted above and check out the mainboards on the right side of the page, then spend hours studying the chipsets that power them, and then see how those chipsets compare to others recently released.

You also need to consider the graphics card, if you choose a chipset that supports PCI express and not AGP, you will have to choose one of the latest PCIexpress graphics cards.

The RAM you chose...... well, go check out Ultra's website, they have some awesome RAM (2 x 512mb 500mhz in a Mahogany box!) and they are looking competitive. But, they also seem to have a reputation for some junk RAM as well, so choose carefully.

I simply don't have time to wait for all those links to load, so maybe someone else can check for you on the other stuff.

Oh dear! this is the best miss-matched set of components I've seen since I did something similar a few years back!  Grin

You've got a very good 2.8ghz p4 processor, certainly, but, you want to pair it to a Geforce 4 MX(!) along with a Creative SB 16 card..... Oh dear.... Your wasting money here!

I'm on broadband, but, in the U.K. I'm getting a terrible connection to this site, but I'll keep at it and construct a system for you!

I need to know your budget! $500? $1500? give me a clue or you'll get a $4000 beast!  Grin

In answer to your question about conflict, yes, it all conflicts, in fact, it would'nt assemble into a working PC!

Your site is terrible, I'm using www.overclockers.co.uk for my reference, just order the same kit locally... (Overclockers do mail order Wink )

my buget is in the 500 doller range, I know you can make a great gaming comp for less than 600 doellers. My system HAS GOT TO BE IN THE CASE i SHOWED! i LOVE THAT CASE......... any way, could some one build me one (in that case) , one that will run FS9 well with medium high settings all around in good fps with lots and lots of speed and memory? good sound?

Thank you for saving me from the dooooooooms day I almost made.

Video Card:

BFG 6800 128mb AGP                              $270

or

Radeon 9800 pro 128mb                     $133
----------------------------------------------------------

CPU:

AMD 64bit socket 754, 3200+                   $179

or

AMD socket A , 3200+                                $119
-----------------------------------------------------------

Chipset (mainboard):

EP-8KDA3J nForce3-250GB Socket 754      $73
(I researched this board)

or

nForce2 Ultra 400 mainboard  from $45
----------------------------------------------------------

RAM:

Kingston Value Ram 512MB 400MHz PC3200 DDR NonECC CL2.5 Dimm Memory

x 2                                                    $160
-----------------------------------------------------------

Hard disk 80gb                                  $50

------------------------------------------------------------

Now if you use the cheapest of those components it adds up to $510 and that is with NO case/psu, soundcard, (many nforce2 boards have decent onboard sound), keyboard, mouse, speakers, joystick, headset, monitor, modem, cdrom drives or anything other than the bare components.

So, do you still want a fancy case or should I send you to the hardware store to get some Plywood?

The above prices were taken from pricewatch.com and you should expect to pay 20% more in total by the time you get it ordered from a decent supplier and delivered.

Are you sure you aren't still dreaming?

Can someone beat this?

I've looked to better Congo's quoted system and given up!

Seriously though, forget the case, or its looks, its whats displayed on your monitor thats important.

Oh and your listed case is @350 watt, I'd advise you go for 400 as a minimum.  Wink

I relize that the case is un important, but it's pretty cheap and comes with a rebate. and a opticale mouse and keyboard.

The system that I chose (Out of the optinal parts) came out  to 921.00 ..... but I plsnned ahead, I got a 64bit processer and a radeon I went 120gigs on the hd instead of the suggested 80. I went cheaper on the thinng that could up grade a lil easier later, like GFX card. I'll post the list in a minute.
