yes you did. Sadly.
I heard Northwest wanted them to continue with it, but Boeing convinced them not to press ahead with the request, and told them to think about the 7E7, which would work out cheaper for them. Its going to be the end of an era. I truely think this is the most versatile passenger plane of all time, it can cross the atlantic or do short 30 minute flights, all at a profit where other planes would loose money. Its engines are unbelievably powerful, and i have had to do a takeoff in a piper warrior behind one, just sitting on the runway waiting you could feel it. Sad day indeed Cry

Not really a surprise.
The 757 program is 20+ years old and with todays crazy oil prices it's not worth having a single aisle airliner crossing the atlantic, it has the same amount of engines as the larger 767...you do the math.

But yes, the 757 is truly an icon, that was never meant to be in the first place  Wink

I can't say I didn't expect this to happen. The 7E7 will have big shoes to fill in the 757 but I think it will do it well.

AMD Athlon 64 3700+&&GeForce FX5200 256Mb&&1GB DDR400 DC&&Seagate 500Gb SATA-300 HDD&&Windows XP Professional X64 Edition
&&&&That's right, I'm now using an AMD! I decided to give them another try and they kicked the pants off of my P4 3.4!

Remember - there are still DC-3s in active service all over the world, and the newest is 65+ years old?
