david, there is an Adobe Reader pdf file from Flight 1 that is pretty detailed on how to use this program. I followed the directions and found it pretty easy as a first timer

Ultimate Traffic Update
This document has been prepared to provide you with installation instructions for the Ultimate
Traffic Update as well as information about the items updated for Ultimate Traffic. This is the
only file that is needed to update any Ultimate Traffic installation.
Installation Instructions:
If you desire to install Ultimate Traffic into FS2004 (and have not done so, previously) you will
need to download a completely new base installer. Do not attempt to use the setup file that
was posted prior to January 18th 2004. Download the new, complete installer for Ultimate
Traffic. When using the new installer, you will not need to run this update as it includes all of the
fixes and changes available in this update.
If you are updating an existing installation of Ultimate Traffic in either FS2002 or FS2004, you
will use this installer.
First, start the new installer by double-clicking on the file. Once the setup file begins, follow the
instructions on the screen.
When given the opportunity in the installer, select which version of Flight Simulator you are using
with Ultimate Traffic. If you are using Ultimate Traffic in both FS2002 and FS9, then you will
need to run the update two times, once for each version of Flight Simulator.
Let the installer finish installing all of the files and then REBOOT your system.
Once you have rebooted, start the Ultimate Traffic main interface. The interface will update your
aircraft with new flight dynamics and parking codes, it will also create new PalmSpotter data files.
If you have imported any new flight plans into Ultimate Traffic, you will need to import them
again after installing the update.
Because new versions of the TCAS and PalmSpotter gauges have been released with this
update, you will need to REMOVE installed gauges using the Utilities | Gauges screen in
Ultimate Traffic, before installing the new gauges

What’s New in Ultimate Traffic:
Current File Versions Included in the Update
Ultimate Traffic Main Interface – Version 1.2.0010
Automatic Updater – Version 1.1.0005
Items Repaired, Modified, or Added
· Airline Import Function
o Problem identified with the Registration Number for New Airlines. Problem fixed and
separate check added to the creation of the flightplans.txt file
o Program shutdown on Win98
SaVas
systems when pressing the Create New Carrier or
Operator button in importer identified. Problem fixed for those operating systems.
This was not a problem for modern operating systems and no change seen for those
running a modern operating system.
o New Airline Package File format. Due to the problem concerning the airline
registration numbers, new .apf file formats had to be created.
· Automatic Updater
o Problem with Updater hanging when attempting to find new updates identified.
Problem fixed (previously released in minor update via the updater)
o Problem with ReadMe file in the updater being cutoff identified. Problem fixed
(previously released in minor update via the updater)
o Download and install of Setup files via the Updater was not having the files checked
off of the Updates Not Installed list. Problem was identified and fixed.
o Support for checking for existence of same airport AFCAD when installing individual
AFCAD files added to Updater
· Traffic File Compiling
o Support for TNG flag with the compiler now added for FS9.
o Aircraft not properly sorted in the traffic.bgl file and showing in the wrong location
during flight found and fixed.
o Aircraft not properly arriving on time or just appearing at the gate was identified as an
error caused by a new method FS9 uses for the spawning of AI aircraft. Problem is
now fixed by inserting realistic speeds for each flight in the pre-compile data files.
Aircraft now arrive and depart much better.
o Inhibit Fixed Arrival Times checkbox REMOVED from FS9. With the new compiling
method, it is no longer needed.
· Traffic Collision Avoidance System
o TCAS now supported for FS9.
o TCAS does NOT require FSUIPC or any Microsoft SDK.
o To get the TCAS working in your panels you will need to first REMOVE the
PalmSpotter from the panels. You can do this via the Utilities Page in the Ultimate
Traffic interface. This process will likely take a few minutes (up to 10 in most cases).
Once the PalmSpotter has been removed, restart Ultimate Traffic and then
INSTALL the gauges into the panels.
· PalmSpotter
o PalmSpotter completely redesigned for FS9.
o PalmSpotter does NOT require FSUIPC or any Microsoft SDK.
o To get the new PalmSpotter working in your panels you will need to first REMOVE
previous gauge installations from your panels. You can do this via the Utilities Page
in the Ultimate Traffic interface. This process will likely take a few minutes (up to 10
in most cases). Once the previously installed gauges have been removed,, restart
Ultimate Traffic and then INSTALL the gauges into the panels.
o The new PalmSpotter for FS9 is “live.” It will only show those aircraft that are in the
Ultimate Traffic traffic.bgl file as well as only those flights currently active within
Flight Simulator. What you see on screen in FS9 is what the PalmSpotter will now
show. All times are corrected to the time that the aircraft is flying.
o This new PalmSpotter can NOT be ported to FS2002. Due to the differences and
extra features in FS9, Flight One Software was able to make the “live” version of the
PalmSpotter for FS9, these features do not exist in FS2002 and the “live” version of
the PalmSpotter can not be made to function within that sim.
· AFCAD 2 Files for FS9
o All Ultimate Traffic AFCAD (version 2) files for FS9 are included in the Update.
o There are a total of 1477 airports created with AFCAD 2.
New Airline Package File Format
Because of changes to the Airline Import feature, a new .apf file format has been designated. Old
.apf files will no longer work. If you wish to import your airlines again, you will need to use the
Create New button, NOT the Load button. Because your aircraft and airline data is not being
changed with the release of the service pack you will most likely not have to create the airlines
again, just assign them on the Aircraft Import page. If you have experienced problems in the past
because of the airlines missing their registration numbers, you should be able to use the Tail
Numbers Utility page to update the tail numbers for your airlines and get rid of any incorrect
registration numbers or blank registrations.
Future updates to Ultimate Traffic are not currently planned, but if the need arises, Flight One
Software will provide the best means of support that is viable, including upgrades if they are
warranted.
This is copied verbatum from Flight 1's PDF (search Yahoo or Google for Ultimate Traffic Instructions)
Hope it helps,
---Stephen

Well, i looked but was unable to find the pdf.
This is becoming a total nightmare for me :|
Is it just me or is ultimate traffic really difficult to use ?
I don`t have any experience with adding traffic by means of TT, so maybe this is the problem.
