???I have been simming for a while and have been able to download some really nice aircraft, however sometimes I do not get any gauges or the right sounds.  The other day I tried to download a b-29 (18.5kb). when it was finished it did not show up.  I am currently using the s2002 pro edition.  I loaded it onto my desktop and the icon did show up.  I then right clicked it and my zip windoe came up and asked where I wanted to file it.  I have a file called "jumk" and thats where I filed it.  next I opened the windows explorer and then clicked on the junk file and there is was.  I then opened another window explorer window and moved it to the right of the other one.  I then clicked on program files, microsoft games, and on fs2002.  I clicked on fs2002 and opened the aircraft icon.  I then clicked on the b-29 icon and moved it (with the mouse) into the aircraft folder.  I closed both windows and opended fs2002.  when i scaned down the aircraft list the b-29 was not there, however when I opened the window explorer window and clicked on the fs2002 aircraft list, there ie was.  I know that this has been a rather long explanation but I still need help.  If any one out there wants to help PLEASE use a "see jane run" approach.  thanks, japtjim

H Jim, welcome to the forum!  Wink Im not sufre what you mean with your 'See Jane Run' approach, but I will answer anyway. A good explanation for all of your aliasing troubles is here:

Thats by our own Hagar..... Have you installed custom gauges (*.gau or *.xml files) where neccasary?
Hope that covers you for now  Grin

I originally wrote my Aliasing article for CFS. You shouldn't need it for installing FS2002 aircraft to FS2002 Pro. The most common cause of new aircraft not displaying on the selection menu is when the actual aircraft is hidden inside one or more other folders. With the variety of unzipper utilities available nowadays & different methods used to install files it's not so easy to give general advice as it used to be.

Please take my tip & NEVER extract zipfiles direct to the sim. Extract them to a Temp folder & examine the folders carefully before pasting the "Aircraft Container" (that's the folder directly containing the familiar Model, Panel, Sound & Texture folders) into FS2002\Aircraft. If gauges are included they will usually be in a separate folder named Gauges or similar. To install the gauges open the Gauges folder & click Edit/Select All. Paste the complete contents into FS2002\Gauges. Do NOT overwrite existing files/folders if prompted. The aircraft will be selectable without the gauges installed.

May I suggest you study this aircraft installation tute & follow the instructions carefully. http://www.simviation.com/acinstall.htm
It explains all this much better than I can do here.
