i think i have the nessesary tools to make the idea ^ but i have no knowelegde of using any of them.a guy told me what i needed,now what? at first i rather someone make my idea but that didnt work so im determined to make it my self,if u want things done how u want,do it urself,i juz need help with using gmax and wotever else i downloaded to work for me.i dont want to make airplanes or nothing,the whole idea of me going through the trouble is to build a "hover-car" thats what i fancy.delorean would be nice,back to the future ah thats what i wished my car had,no wheels,but looked like something u take to work or road trip too.can anyone atleast try to help me? thanx!

Okay.  You want the real deal, huh?  First you need to setup Gmax, if you haven't already.

Next you need to get the FS2004 SDKs.  Link is in my signature.  Get the MakeMDL SDK and any other you deem relevant to what you want to do.

Now go look for two little plugins called MDLCommander and MiddleMan.  These will help you in converting the Gmax model to FS.  If you find one it will tell you where to find the other.

Then go look in the sticky thread at the top of the Aircraft and 3D Design Forum.  It will give you a link to The Stupid Idiot's Guide to Gmax.  Download that and follow it along.  Its fairly simple.  Then take a gander at the rest of the links in that sticky thread and use them.  They are by far one of the best resources around here for modelling.

And lastly, your best source of knowledge is to keep coming back to the Design Forums and asking questions, no matter how dumb you think they might be.  We've all been at the starting line, so we all know the race you're trying to run . . .
