I think somehow that they are arachnids, so maximum of 8 legs... and they still look better than camels!
There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

they are very nasty creatures. They feed on camels stomaches, thus ther name, they inject you with an anesthetic so you cant feel it feeding on you, they have a very good vertical leap.

I thought the photo looked a bit sensationalised - wide angle lens - so did a search.

Impressive but not THAT scary really ... unless you don't like spiders
Wonder what they taste like fried? 8)

camel-spider.... spider - scorpion hybrid. Fastest arachnid, but not as dangerous as it looks.

Me neither Jared!
It's funny what tricks though a good camera will do. I posted some pics a while back of the Briish house Spider. It als looks really big and scary, but as said here - it is actually a lot smaller in real life.

Yeah, it's only 5 inches across! That's about the size of your hand. That is still huge for a spider, I don't care what you say...

I think you'll find that the smaller spiders are the most dangerous. I don't mind them as a rule but I wouldn't want to run into one of these little critters. They're reputed to lurk under toilet seats & bite your bum or something more sensitive.
http://www.termite.com/spiders/Red-Back-Spider.shtml
This reminds me a of little ditty an old friend used to sing when he returned from Oz back in the 70s.
Quote:
THE REDBACK ON THE TOILET SEAT
by Slim Newton
There was a redback on the toilet seat
When I was there last night.
I didn't see him in the dark,
But boy I felt his bite.
I jumped high up into the air
And when I hit the ground,
That crafty redback spider
Wasn't nowhere to be found.
I rushed into the missus,
Told her just where I'd been bit.
She grabbed a cut-throat razor-blade
And I nearly took a fit.
I said, "Just forget what's on your mind
And call a doctor please,
'Cause I got a feeling that your cure
Is worse than the disease."
There was a redback on the toilet seat
When I was there last night.
I didn't see him in the dark,
But boy I felt his bite.
And now I'm here in hospital
A sad and sorry sight,
And I curse the redback spider
On the toilet seat last night.
I can't lie down, I can't sit up
And I don't know what to do,
And all the nurses think it's funny
But that's not my point of view.
I tell you its embarassing,
And that's to say the least,
That I'm too sick to eat a bit
While that spider had a feast.
And when I get back home again
I tell you what I'll do,
I'll make that redback suffer
For the pain I'm going through.
I've had so many needles
That I'm looking like a sieve,
And I promise you that spider
Hasn't very long to live.
There was a redback on the toilet seat
When I was there last night.
I didn't see him in the dark,
But boy I felt his bite.
But now I'm here in hospital
A sad and sorry sight,
And I curse the redback spider
On the toilet seat last night.
