Not sure where to post this so mods, feel free to move it around.

I was hoping to purchase active camera for FS2K4, but I haven't added the patch because I have a ton of add-ons in terms of scenery (the added bridges are now redundant).

I also use the No-CD.exe from SimV.  I have heard that the new version of active camera is incompatible with the No_CD.exe, so if I'm to use Active Camera, I need an older version.

Any ideas on where one can be found?

jordanj,

The older veriosn of Active Camera does not work with fs2004.  Sorry.   Tongue

I THINK that someone wrote an "alterrnative" to Active Camera.......... maybe that is OK with the new M$ patch.... don;t know.

best,

.................john

Thought there was a version before the patch that worked with the no_cd.exe ???

Doesn't the current version require the patch to run?

I think it goes like this:

Active Camera v1.0 was the base version for fs9
update to 1.1 still worked in fs9 without update
the new update to 2.0 works in fs9 but not in fs9.1
You have to download a patch for active camera 2.0 to work in fs9.1

As far as I know, the new active camera doesn't work with the No-cd file and no active camera before the fs9.1 patch works with the upgraded fs9.1 and therefore, if you have installed the fs9 patch, you cant use the NO-cd and active camera at the same time.
I think thats right. Grin

P.S. Thats why I'm sticking with fs9 and not fs9.1, I'm happy with my settings and I've got a lot of addons that I don't want to lose compatibility with. The update doesn't really fix much where I fly too (mainly UK and Europe).

There's a comment in a thread in the "Hardware Forum" from rhumbaflappy that says that there is a new no-cd patch out for fs9.1 that Active Camera supposedly now works with.  I don't know the details... but go there and ask him.

best,

Okay, I'd like to stay where I am (no patch)...

Which version of active camera should I get?

If you're going to stick without the fs9 patch, best to go with the active camera update to 2.0 (if you have 1.1)
