Hi all and help!!!!!
I seem to be having problems with the Creative soundblaster Audigy sound card and my Asus P4C800 Delux motherboard.
The problem is that when playing TOCA Race driver Iam getting what I can best describe as an electronic simulation of an old dot type printer, this is intermitant but is louder than the sound I should be hearing. I uninstalled the driver for the sound card and restarted the computer, it would get as far as the "welcome" screen the start over and so on. I removed the sound card ( the computer started and ran ok) and tried to install the drivers but it has to have the sound card in to do this when I put the card back in I got the same problem only getting as far as the "welcome" then starting over etc
I put an old sounblaster sound card in the same slot and the computer works fine, playing TOCA fine no problems. I assumed the Audigy was US so bought another Audigy, removed the card and drivers put this Audigy card in it then went as far as the "welcome" etc. Not to be outdone I put the card in a different slot and I worked ok but it started to make the same noises as the other Audigy card. I put the first Audigy card in this computer and it works fine. The computer specks are
P4 3.0 Ghz
ASUS P4C800 Delux mobo
FX 5600 256Mb Graphics card
Audigy Sound card
2x 512Mb Elixir pc3200 Ram
Liteon DVD rom drive
3.5 floppy
500w twin fan Power supply
Optic mouse
Windows XP pro
Many thanks in advance Chris

Interesting, I had to do precicely that! Its no loss really, my £17 soundblaster Live 5.1 seems to preform as well as the £50+ Audigy, so I got a refund and spent the change at the pub!
