Help me please, I have just installed Fs2004 and the graphics flicker all the time, huge chunks of the screen just flash. I have tried all the upgrades and patches and had no trouble with fs2002, I am so fed up, I have reinstalled several times. I even got a new card, fx5700 and it still does the same.

I installed on my friends PC with my old card and it works fine, What can I try next, its doing my head in, I should have just stuck with 2002,

My PC is a 2gig with 80 gigs disk and 512meg of mem.

It sounds like the sims settings are too high for the card, or a driver DirectX or AGP driver prob perhaps.

I'd go drop all the sliders to minimum in the sim, turn off all the options and see if that works perhaps, then slowly bring them back up. (mipmapping too high?)

Try a video card driver designed for your video card, like 53.03 or 53.06 rather than the newer ones.

This would surprise me if it was a hardware problem.

Also what monitor are you using? TFT's are prone to a tearing effect which sounds similar to what you have.  Try ensuring you have V-sync enabled too as this means the sim wont be running in a higher HTz than your monitor can handle.

As congo said also try turning your settings down to see if it still does it.  If I pan really fast on mine the textures still take a split second to load and I see a triangle kinda shape on edge of screen for a split second.
