Greetings,

I currently have CFS 1 installed, but have a copy of CFS 2 coming via an Ebay win. My questions deal with custom planes d/l for use in CFS 1, and the possibility of using them in CFS 2. So my questions are:

Can I safely add any of the CFS 1 custom addons - like planes, campaigns, and scenarios to CFS2 ?

Or should I simply d/l CFS 2 addons to be safe ?

Secondly, in regards to MS official addons like Pacific Theater, Midway, Tuscogee Airmen etc, I've seen a few on Ebay, but to be honest they don't seem to be that prevalent, or readily accessible.

So, would anyone know if these official addons will work with CFS2..

IF so, would there be any reason to purchase the Midway and Pacific Theatre addons - given CFS2 is a Pacific Theatre game ?

and finally, does anyone have a few internet links for stores that stock the official addons, and perhaps a listing of all of the official addons so I can see what available ?

Many thanks,

SilverleaF

Hi SilverleaF. If you take my tip you will treat CFS1 & CFS2 as completely separate sims.

There are no official addons for any MS sim. The ones you mention here are commercial addons by a 3rd party developer, in this case I believe they're distributed by Abacus. I suspect they're for CFS1 Only & doubt they would be compatible with CFS2. Unless you wish to use them in CFS1 I see no point in purchasing them. There's plenty of freeware files of all types for both sims posted here & on other CFS sites. These should keep you happy for a long time. Wink

Dittos to Hagar

And, when you have flown for awhile with CFS2, download the Korean War addon campaigns from the Fox Four team.

Many thanks for the information, and the suggestions. 8)

For me, theres a certain nostalga about a P-38, and the nuances of such planes. BUT that doesn't mean I won't look into it down the road.

Cheers and thanks again,
