Wohoo, it's getting closer... only... 4 months after they said it'd be ready mid-June. lol  Anyway, they say the model and flight testing is done for the Blue Angels versions and only need to set up a "store front" to purchase and should be done in two weeks.  (or in their vocabulary... the translation is 2-3 months)

Anyway, if the flight model is HALF as good as the physical apperance of the jet, it should be more than worth the money and wait.

Check out the screenshots over at www.aerialfoundry.ca ;

And you can expect a complete review as soon as I get my mits on that beauty and put her through her paces. Cheesy

You know I am an advocate of payware, but there is also (ducks and runs for cover) an excellent F-18 freeware, that has an available Blue Angels repaint for it?

Yeah, I've downloaded every Hornet I can find for flight sim, and honestly find the flight model (not even to mention the visual model on some) to be extremely unrealistic (see note below).  (The flight model for the new Super Hornets is especially bad)  In fact, even the visual model of these payware Hornets is incorrect... but it's still better than anything out there.  And just the visual model alone, (for an avid Hornet fan like myself) is worth the money.  Most of all that of the Blue Angels.  (The re-paints are OK... but nothin' compares to what these look like.)

Note:  I'm EXTREMELY picky when it comes to Hornets. lol  As if you couldn't tell... and the CF-18 20th anneversary Hornet here on SimV. actually does have an excellent flight model... ironically, by the same person making them for Aerial Foundry.

Anyway, I'm sure you understand my gripe about this topic... I've been waiting for a nice, sexy Hornet for flight sim since I started with FS2. lol

I mean, come on... can anyone really compete with this:
