I'd always suspected it was and just had a look. Apparently it's 33ft 3(and a bit)"/10.14m, compared to the XIV at 32ft 8"/9.96m...

And Ken the reason the 18 looks a bit longer is the teardrop canopy and elongated spinner make it look quite a bit longer, in reality its the same length as the Mk XIV.

The MK XVIII is longer than a MKXIV because of the larger rudder. Look at the the shot of the XVIII and you can just see a MKXIV behind it and clearly see that the rudder is larger Wink
