I am willing to enter the CFS community by buying my first soft.

Apparently CFS3 seems to need powerful system that I am not sure to have.

In a other hand, CFS1 fit prefectly what I am looking for.

The only problem is that I do not know if I could run CFS1 on XP (the OS i have  Grin ).

I would be very please to know if anyone had tested this configuration and with what results Wink

All the best,

sT

As far as I know it should, but I have only used it on Win98SE. What does it say on the system requirements spec?

I would imagine not then. You will have to find someone who has tried it.

To the best of my knowledge CFS1 runs fine on WinXP.

It's not listed on the package as it was released long before XP was thought of.

~S~

I've used it online and offline with XP Home (SP1) - no worries at all.

I almost always fly CFS2 now, but I come back to CFS1 from time to time. I still get a real blast out of the offline campaigns and missions.

Best of luck with this - it's a great game!

The worst that will happen is it won't work and you'll get pissed off. Then you'll return it....
Dont worry!!

Shocked I run XP Pro with multiple hard drives. One thing I noticed that CFS1 does not like being on any other hard drive other than C drive. When I had it on my third hard drive, many aircraft and many add ons, such as RAF NDB and ADF add ons would not work.I believe that many of the dll's for the game will only read off the C drive. Your best bet is keep it on the C drive and you should have no problems. You may have to use the mdl aircraft repair program if you add on aircraft that don't function correctly.Check Hagars web site for tutorials and repair fixes. I too just installed it on XP, and it seems to work fine, some add-on aircraft won't show but in the 2002 downloads you can get the MDL repair utility, works great and easy!!!!

Only bugs I have noticed (uncertain if these are XP related??) is after adding some new sound files of bullets and flak, it messed up my sound card settings.
Another thing is I notice a majority of the C47's will be flying inverted?!!!!!
Give it a try set up a Quick Combat, you against a fleet of C47's and let me know if you see at least half of them flying as if Ozzy where at the yoke!
At first I thought it was one I shot at (was practicing and wanted to practice on something that wouldn't shoot back Smiley ) but happens often Grin
