I was watching Terminator 2 the other day and noticed the character John Connor using a small piece of Atari hardware to work out the pin no. for a stolen credit card and steal cash.
It looked interesting so I went to the Atari museum website and found out it was their palmtop computer the Portfolio, quite a neat little device for its day. Apparently the world's first palmtop running an 8088 chip at 4 mhz. 8)

Atari 2600!! I remeber those  Grin

I remeber some aircraft dogfight game I had on mine, I thought it was wicked  8)

My mate had a commodore Vic20 that was a weird thing.  Think I went to an Atari800 after the 2600 then after that onto a BBC B micro.

Since finding out about the Portfolio I have heard that someone that owned one overclocked it so that it ran at 6 mhz, but it drained the battery. Embarrassed
Funny you should mention about the 2600 console because I was just reading about the supercharger accessory that allowed games on analogue cassette to be used and effectively upped the 2600's RAM from 128 bytes to 6k. If you look at the screenshots for the game Frogger here it showed that the old 2600 could get very close to the arcade version.

  ZX 80, 81, 48k Spectrum, Atari 800 & Vic 20, that's classic hardware. 8)

Just do a search for "Emulators"...

Spectrum.
Commodore.
Atari.
Amiga
Megadrive.
etc....

Cheers all...!

You know that using a emulator to play Megadrive games is illegal Fozz. Sega's been busy porting some of the old games to Gamecube so they're still for sale. I must admit that I love the old Sonic games and I use emulators to play them. Can't be bothered dragging the old Genesis out. Got too much hooked up to the TV already.

I only pretend to know what I'm talking about. Heck, that's what lawyers, car mechanics, and IT professionals do everyday. Wink&&The Rig: &&AMD Athlon XP2000+ Palomino, ECS K7S5A 3.1, 1GB PC2700 DDR, Geforce FX5200 128mb, SB Live Platinum, 16xDVD, 16x10x40x CDRW, 40/60gb 7200rpm HDD, 325w Power, Windows XP Home SP1, Directx 9.0c with 66.81 Beta gfx drivers

Sill one of the best games around. They're legal if you own the original game cart. Here's Sonic & Knuckles

The common emulator for the 2600 is Stella 1.1.4. You must try the game Jr. Pac-Man written by GCC, originally slated for 1984 release, but went on sale in 1987 because of the video game crash of 1984.
The ROM and screenshots are here. It plays better than even arcade Pac-Man and you get a big scrolling maze.

I was playing for 30-40 mins today and got 66,280 on Dig Dug (Namco) on my 2600jr console with joypad controller. I love making that MOS Technologies 6507 CPU and TIA chip sweat!  Grin
I didn't get into much of a game plan, you really need to get the pookas and dragons at the lower levels to get big points.
