Yes, that's right... in addition to the B744, they will be designing an MD-11... I suddenly get the psychic vision of my wallet empty and my FS hangar full....

...I've been knowing about this project . Bill Grabowski had been working on a MD-11 panel for quite some time and gave us frequent updates etc.
But then nothing happened for months and suddenly yesterday my friend who is a moderator on a popular FS Board, aswell as a beta tester for the MD-11 panel sent me a notice that "Big things are happening with the MD-11 by Bill, cannot give you more details right now"

So this is what happened eh, PMDG took his project underneath their wings.

I LOVE IT!!!

YES!!! This is awesome news! Can't wait! But uhh shouldnt they do one thing at a time. Queen of the skies isnt even out yet...

Well, the panel is "almost" ready (last time I heard only 2d panel was done, no real overhead, not to mention VC...), and that is the hard part with all the programming and other stuff I don't understand Grin

...the visual model can be done in a matter of months, but Bill had been working on that panel for years, and posted screenies of his testflights etc so it is at least somewhat functional at this time

Just read that the MD11 will be released in "Late spring 2005"

Ahh who needs a Concorde! Grin

I really, really HOPE they make both the European and American MD11 version, there are a couple of differences between them in the cockpit displays and symbology.
I've only seen European MD11 cockpits in real life, that would be so sweet

Flying an American variant would like sleeping with your cousin..it is okay, but it certainly doesnt feel right!

It's the PFD and ND that are different in the symbology and colors (I think). I'm used to have it "european style, so that's why i prefer it

The US and European versions differ on 10 different ND symbols if not more, so it is noticeable allright.

But I'd buy the US variant in a jiffy anyway Grin
