Hi there,

I would like to buy one of the payware traffic packages.
So far I have seen "My traffic" in action and it´s really
impressive.
There is just one thing I absolutely do not like. The installed
AI aircraft are distributed all over my Aircraft menue.
Well most of them have at least an "mt_****" in front of
their names like mt_boeing/737, but not any.

Is there any traffic package out there that does handle this in a clean way ? Btw. How do the ai aircraft appear in other packages ?

Thank You,

Hello Sam and welcome to the forums. I myself, along with many other, use Ultimate traffic. It is really easy on frame rates due to their very good design team, the aircraft look really nice instead of aircraft that look like they were made out of legos, the installer will place a shortcut on your desktop called "Ultimate Traffic Updater" which will, after updating, compile your traffic with all the latest schedules, liveries, paint schemes, tec....
I find it to be really nice!!

Here is the product.

and here is Ultimate Traffic's Site

Hope this helps!!

Given that Ultimate Traffic seeks to tie AI traffic to published airline schedules, does it do anything to affect civilian aviation?  I'm not so hung up on the need to see actual airlines and airline schedules, but I do want more AI traffic (a closer approximation to real life).  I do about 70% of my flying out of smaller airports and in a civil aviation type capacity so I'd really like to see more small plane activity.

Heya Chris,

I also use Ultimate Traffic and have found that (at least it seems to me that) the amount of General Aircraft in UT is a little more than what you would find with the FS 2004 default flightplan.

If you wish you can also "Bump Up" your GA traffic by creating a separate Flightplans.txt file containing only GA aircraft flights and place it into the Ultimate Traffic\Extra Traffic Folder and then run a UT Compile.  This will include this extra GA traffic into FS 2004.

It's my understanding (perhaps wrong) that AI flight plans can be altered/added to using shareware or simple text editors.  Admittedly I've never tried or digged too deeply in to it.  The reason I'd want to buy a payware package for this is to add a large quantity of traffic (all around the world, not just at a few airports).  Does UT supply some tools to generate the new AI flightplans?

As far as AI GA aircraft are concerned I think that Ultimate Traffic has the amount of GA traffic about right.  If you wish to add more GA traffic you can use a free program by Dave Westbury called AI Flight Creator v1.6.6 available at flightsim.com.

This is an easy to use program which will make flightplans.  You can then Copy/Paste this flightplan.txt file into the Ultimate Traffic/Extra Traffic folder, run a Compile, and your extra traffic appears!
