For those of us who have yet to enter the current century and still have to get a digital camera, could someone fill me in on what resolution we all scan at?  I usually scan pics at 1200 dpi, to ensure a good quality, but I think this may be a bit excessive.

Anyone else?

My scanner only goes up to 600dpi and I've been happy with that.

What do computers and air conditioners have in common?...
They both will work perfectly, until you open windows.

I bought a scanner (flatbed) and rarely use it, it scans great but the software it runs on sucks and is time consuming.

But to your question I have "presets" for photos, text, etc.
And usally scan a photo at the default scan rate which is 1200dpi, I have tried it lower and found that there really isn't that much differance except for the fact that some of the originals flaws aren't as apparent.

Well if you got a scanner just scan at the best it can do to ensure you get a real nice image!

Of course this is useless if your printer cant print at 1200dpi but if it can I would scan at that too  Grin
