Might be able to squeeze some more outta it if i return my water textures to the originals!

Skittles, I just got some new drivers for my 6800U. WHQL ones 65.73. Bumped up my 03 score another 200 points 8) Im at 13342 now WOHOOOO

I usually play FS2004 online, well today I shutdown all uneccessary things like firewall/anti-virus and I was able to run everything maxxed bar dynamic scenery (Set at dense) and 3d cloud coverage to medium (the lowest bar on the clouds tab) Seemed to handle that fine with 100%AI 1600x1200 4xAA and 8xAF.

Shame I enjoy flying online so much, and real weather always hits FPS harder than the pre-programmed weather systems.

AMD64 3500+ @ 2200MHz 400FSB&&MSI K8N Neo 2 mobo nForce3 chipset&&1gig Corsair XMS PC3200 timings @ 10.2.2.2 &&XFX 6800 Ultra @ 450/1200&&80gig HDD&&Loadsa fans!!!

Interesting. Are you using the default settings? The session I ran last night scored me at 5805. It may be a low number, but it's still double what I had before.

What do computers and air conditioners have in common?
They both will work perfectly, until you open windows.

Skittles I dont think I have gained much in FS from new drivers. I am surprised yours has doubled just from a new CPU, though if it has it shows jst how much FS2004 likes FSB speeds to be as high as possible.

One very strange thing I noticed earlier was, when flying online I usually have the chatbox open. Well I had set my FPS to unlimited to take the above screeny and left it like that. If I shut the chatbox I gained about 11FPS!! I have no idea why this happens but as soon as I press enter to bring the chatbox back up I loose FPS.

You can definately get a better looking game flying offline.

Wow.. Gixer........ that is an amazing framerate. Shocked

I realize that if you get out in the ocean and away from AI and use the simple aircraft that it ups the framerates amazingly... happens on my syystem too... but that is a pretty awesome number there.

So ;;; just out of curiosity.... how much money do you have invested inj that machine to get that fantastic result?

It's not just a new CPU. This new CPU put my FSB from 533 to 800 and my memory from 133 to 400. It's not quite doubled. Go back and look at my updated post for my FPS.

Well, as an average, yes. but as I get closer to KSEA, with all my Ultimate Traffic on, I get about 17-22FPS. That's a whole lot better than what I used to get 9-14FPS

Yes Skittles I know you got that CPU coz of the higher FSB thats y I mentioned the above and FS2004 liking higher FSB speeds. Just looked at your CPUZ update too. I notice you have 1024 L2 cache too. That could possibly help out a bit also. I was hoping my CPU would come through and be a 'Clawhammer' which is 1024 L2 cache but I didn't get so lucky Sad

JBarymore, well I build my own rigs and kinda update em a bit at a time. Last upgrade was the Mobo/CPU and G/card. Total cost for that was £650 (I a very good deal on the g/card!) The other bits I have had a while but I guess my whole rig (just the tower) would cost about £1000 there abouts.

Yes I took that pick in reply to ASL just to show what can be had with not much going on in the sim, and the fact I have never actually tried it before lol. Bearing in mind that at KSEA with everything maxxed bar Autogen which I set to dense and the bottom bar on the cloud tab set to medium amount of 3d clouds I hold just over 20fps. I cannot Max everything still!! not to worry my sim looks great on those settings using AA and AF with a high res so I'm not to complain. Maybe once I save up enough for my new ram and raise my HTT (FSB) up to about 440 from 400 that will help me get those last two bars maxxed! Grin
