Is it possible to change floats from one seaplane to another if the model is the same but the authors are different?  Is if so, does a person need a lot of expertise in building A.C. (I have none but I can work my way around subdirectories)  Thanks in advance

Oooooh!  A newbie! Wink

Well, everything you see in FS as far as the aircraft and the Virtual Cockpit are part of the model, so you can't take bits and pieces and move them around.  Wish you could, it would make things a lot simpler . . .

What you might want to do is go take a look at the software around the net available for model creation.  The two main programs are Gmax (freeware) and Flight Sim Design Studio (payware).

Gmax comes with FS2002 and FS2004, so you wouldn't even need to download it.  But I would recommend you take a look at the top of this forum and check the FAQs on aircraft design.  When I first started, I couldn't use Gmax to save my life, now I can do anything with it.

FSDS is a less powerful tool, but the interface and usablility for the uninitiated is a little friendlier.

It just depends on your preferences.

Good luck! Grin

Thanks for the quick response Baron!  I was afraid that would be the answer.  As it is, I can't find enought time to fly so I was hoping there was a quick "trick" to all of this.  I can see it now...I'll get the repainting and modelling stuff all figured out and have so much fun doing that, I'll forget this program is a "Flight Simulator."  Oh well, the things we do to create "as "really" real as it gets."

Okay, who let this newbie in on "The Secret"?
