Well for quite some time now I have had issues with my Brand New Radeon 9800 Pro Video Card. I have spoken to ATI a few times, the people who put my machine together and Ramsa about my problem. Seems that I have a defective video card. I don't want to get into details but I ordered a new card. I actually am ditching Radeon and going with a new type of beast!!

It is The GeForce 6800 GT Overclocked

Here are the specs!
> GPU NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT.
> Bus Type AGP.
> Memory 256MB GDDR3.
> Core Clock 370MHz (vs. 350MHZ standard).
> Memory Clock 1000MHz (effective).
> RAMDAC Dual 400MHz.
> API Support Microsoft® DirectX 9.0, OpenGL for Microsoft Windows.
> Connectors VGA, DVI, S-Video-Out.
> 555 million vertices/sec setup.
> 32.0GB/second memory bandwidth.

Sorry ATI!!! My first card was a GeForce and I beat the hell out of it and it really gave me some great results! I wanted to try the Radeon but after this experience, I am going back to the GeForce!

...

My cards bigger than your card,.......na na na na na na!!!   Grin

I may be out of commision in the screenshot forum for a bit, but I will return!  Grin

Yeah, I burned up two 9800 Pros before I went with an after-market fan. Thinking of GeForce for my next machine.  Happy simming.

And the best thing is it will still clock higher than what you got it at.  Expect to get at least 400 outta the core.

A standard 6800Ultra runs at 400/1100, you should be able to reach these speeds no problems.

I got my Ultra running at 435/1200 and all is fine.  You will not be dissapointed with the card if the IQ is anything like my Ultra.  Screenies just dont do it justice.

You're on crack  Grin

So basically you are telling me, my $400 BFG Tech GeForce 6800gt is half price?  So Nvidia's standard card is $800??!   Roll Eyes

The BFG version is actually very good and has an excellent reputation so far, especially for overclocking since well, that is what it is designed, and marketted for.  And as far as price, its the same price as any other 6800gt and performance is just as good as any other.  Only 6800 you will find more expensive is the 6800Ultra which is $100 more than the gt.

It's really hard to find a standard Nvidia card.  They are all made by someone else...PNY, BFG Tech, etc...  They all follow Nvidia's specifications.  The only difference is usually in the cooling system, and sometimes which brand of memory is used.  Specs are all the same...

The BFG car looks like its an Nivida reference board anyhow with their own sticker on.  It doesn't deviate away from the Nvidia design much by the look of it.  Maybe have BFG's own BIOS though.

Same with my XFX 6800Ultra.  Its an Nvidia reference board with there own BIOS which does whatever it does and ups the standard clock speed to 425/1200  Grin

I dunno how much my PC cost lol.  I just upgrade a bit every now and then.  I was lucky and got hold of my 6800Ultra rather cheap after having a stroke of luck (For once in my life)  So I reckon my last upgrade (mobo, cpu and g/card) was about £670.

But this system sure does fly.  Cold boot is evil fast, it plays the windows tune whilst still on the blue windows screen then wham desktop is there ready.  Old system I would get to desktop hear windows tune then it would load a few things and then I could use it hehehe.

I can run Call Of Duty 1600x1200 with 4xAA and 16xAF everything maxxed and ooo its so pretty  Grin

Joint ops I can run at 1600x1200 but cannot have AA on.  If I lower res to 1280x1024 I can have 4xAA but at 1600x1200 cant see any jaggies anyhow.

This was taken off their site also. I did not know what it looked like when I posted the 1st shot. When I received the card yesterday, I was quite impressed!!
