Forgive me if this has been asked 100 Billion times before, but I was curious which aircraft is everyone's favorite? Or maybe the one you find yourself flying the most often in FS.

For me, for some reason, I find myself in the C172SP Skyhawk or the C182RG Skylane most often. I like the Skylane mostly because of the retractable gear. And the 172 mostly because at times I'm too lazy to change to another craft  Tongue

But I do like the Learjet45 and I seem drawn to the triple seven if I feel like challenging myself. And what's really impressive is if I can actually land the thing! Wink

The Spitfire, either Paul Rebuffats CFS2 models or the MkV we have here in vintage downloads.
I'm also spotted in the Stearman we have here and the Lyons Tiger Moth Wink

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

Maybe not 100 billion but close.

Based on my default flight setings and the ac I fly most it's the plain vanilla Beech King Air, using John Consterdine's Beech Baron panel slightly modified to accomodate it.

I should admit that my attention span prevents me from flying lengthy cross country flights in airliners, although I am not averse to flying 60-90 minute flights in them.  It just seemd like a waste of fuel to tank up a 747 to go 500 miles.

90 Billion maybe? Wink  I hate being the new guy in a forum like this and asking a question I know people have asked before, but it seemed a good way to start conversation anyway.

I take it you have many ac that didn't come installed by default? I don't have the one you mentioned at all.

But I have the SR-71 that we've been discussing, and I also took down something called the Husky Aviat, the Lockheed U-2 S Dragon Lady, and the Robin DR400. I want to get the Grumann F-14A Tomcat. It just looks like it would be great to have, but will take a while to DL.

If you spend enough time here, you WILL find some of the same topics covered repeatedly BUT just as you see in this thread some of us never get tired of talking about the same old thing. ............so ask away.!!.........as far as I know........THAT'S WHAT THIS PLACE WAS BUILT FOR!  Wink

has to be the Maule M7-260 Amphibian for FS9 but works fine in FS2002 apart from the GPS.

Comes in a pakage of several planes. Can't rember where you can download it from as i got it from the PC Pilot cover CD (uk flying mag) Think its about a 40 meg download.

For long Haul (1000+) I have many aircraft.  All are either in a custom paint or corporate, no airlines.  My favorite is my Boeing 747-100.  Very challenging to fly

For Medium Hauls (400-800) I choose my lear 45

For Short Haul (1-250) I choose my Cessna Caravan.
Usually its a toss up between my Caravan or Saab 340.

Those are just a few of my aircraft, mostly flown aircraft based out of KMSP.  All around the states and abroad in  few locals I have some other aircraft.  Most of my aircraft I have downloaded really only fly once or twice a year because it takes forever to get to them.  I think my fleet numbers in the 20s.  All corporate or private. NO COMMERCIAL

I have downloaded planes and have flown numerous hours with all of the flyable stock planes in FS2002, CFS and CFS2 and I tend to agree with you about the Cessna 172 and 182.  They are easy to fly, and the flight model seems so much like flying the real thing. If only they were faster....

Hi,

My favorite aircraft at this point in my flight simming is Bill Grabowski and Nick Bottemers  Embraer 145.
Nicks version 3 aircraft and Bill's very real and functional panel make this an exciting and realistic aircraft to fly.
Embraer pilots contributed in the realistic design, sound & functionality.  And it surely shows.  This panel is not for jumping in and just flying!  Everything needs to be set to fly this aircraft.  My first try without reading the manual ended me rolling off the end of the runway, I couldn't get it up!  :0, flying that is!

Nine billion, six-hundred eightythree million, fifty seven thousand and.......
Dang!  I lost count! I'll have to start over!

Most of my favorite planes have been made by Bill Lyons.   It just turned out that way.  Thanks Bill for the good work!

FS 98:  Bill's Luscombe 8a with and without floats. Also his piper J4.

FS2000:  Bill's Cessna 120 and the Alaskan Winds Beavers/Turbo Beavers.

FS2002/2004: The Howard 500 (VC) Pilatus PC12, Bill's Waco Biplanes

CFS1:  Bruno Duforts P-40

CFS2:  Krystof Malinowski's P-40s.

I'm probably forgetting a few but there is so much good stuff out there.  My hat's off to all you great designers out there--keep up the good work.  We all appreciate you!!

Jim Cheesy

Where would I find this plane?  I take it that it is somewhere in this site's download library?
It sounds like it would be fun to try it out.

for me it changes every now and then, right now I'm measing around with a lot of classic brittish jet fighters in 2k2, notably the Meteor T.7 and E.E.-Lightning. In CFS2 I'm flying the F-9F2 and in SFP1 I'm flying the Hawker Hunter Fmk.6 and an F-4E in an Israeli campagn  8)

Its hard to pick a faivourite - i fly so many and they're all pretty fun.

For sheer performance and if i want to cover large distances quickly then it has to be the FS2002 DSB Eurofighter Typhoon. That thing out-flies anything in the sky!
Anglo-Virtual Aviation's RAF F4 Phantom is probly one of the best handling jets out there and the most rewarding to fly well. Its no slow cruiser either so its a tie between the two.

There are a number of great classic props i fly too - when im in the mood for local flights or sightseeing.
They include an FS2002 dH Dragon Rapide [cant remember who built it, sorry!] and AVA's P51 Mustang "Silver Lady".

I'm just practising using autopilot approach mode to land all the time. the cessnas are good for this too but nothing beats bringing down a 737 in 1/4 mile visibility and torential rain - at night!  Grin

Being addicted to those cigar tubes in the sky, among my all-time faves have to be the Boeing 727-200 Advanced and the Airbus A319.

And the 707, various series of 737 and the A380 for the heck of it.

Well, I train in gliders so I like to fly in the AS28. My parents really want me to fly because thats what I want, and I should be starting PPL training when I turn 15 or so, and then get my student pilot certificate as soon as I pass my physical from the AME. So, I fly in the 150, 152, and the 172 also.
