A few more from the Rhinebeck Aerodrome.
First, an original Tiger Moth.
Next, a beautiful Nieuport 11 Copy.
The oldest flying aircraft in the US.
A 1909 Bleriot XI
They only fly it on windless saturdays a couple of feet off the length of the airstrip.
I have seen if fly a couple of times and it`s a sight to behold!
A great DR-1 copy.
Next, a fantastic, all original Curtiss JN-4H "Jenny"
Home airports are KMGJ and KSWF in Orange County, NY&&Stop by and say hello.

Awesome shots, I espeically love the Dr.1 and the Jenny-both beautiful planes. I think the Dr.1 is my overall favorite-it is the plane I like the most from the WWI era even though they didn't make that many and it wasn't used for very long. Still a great plane though.

Very nice Joe. Looking at your photos brings back lots of fond memories for me. Old Rhinebeck looks just the same as when I visited some years ago. It's one of those magical places - wonderful.
Thanks for posting them.

I first visited the Aerodrome about 15 yrs ago when Cole Palen was stlill with us.
Last year was my first return vist and I was wondering what to expect....how has the Aerodrome changed after Cole Palen`s death?
Well, I was pleasently surprised to discover that very little had changed and they are keeping Cole's spirit alive and well!

That's nice to know. I hear that Stanley Segalla "The Flying Farmer" is still around. Is he still doing those amazing things with his Piper Cub? I thought I spotted it in one of your shots.

That's great. What an amazing character. I was fortunate enough to meet him for a chat after his show. I have no idea how old he is.
I look forward to seeing more of your shots.

Great shots Joe, thanks for posting them. It makes me want to hop on a plane right now and come over for a browse
There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

Very very nice Joe...anything with more than one wing and has a prop I will look at anytime
I am sure there is a web site for Rhinebeck Aerodrome but do you think they would allow private aircraft to land there, overnight and visit?
Do you know if they perform during the winter months.
I will try to find their web site and thanks for posting those shots.
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Here`s their site that has complete info.
http://www.oldrhinebeck.org/
They really discourage GA aircraft landing there.
However, antique aircraft are usually welcomed provided their performance is compatable with the airstrip and prior arangements are made.
There is a public GA airport nearby.
