I love low wing GA aircraft. Pipers especially, so it was in due time that I would go ahead and buy this payware.

Nice thing about Australian Simulations Piper is you get several different set-ups of the Warrior.  Here are three ones I chose for screen shots:

Piper Warrior III no wheel pants

...

Piper Warrior II with wheel pants

...

Piper Warrior III with only front wheel pant

...

There is a lot of eyecandy, but bits of the interior in VC mode have an unfinished feel especially if you use active camera and get in the rear seats. The backs of the front seats are not rendered, and a couple other areas are not rendered.

I will get around to writing a review on this aircraft as well, so stay tuned

SaVas, I am so close to the edge on buying this one.  There is some hear-say that the VC is not very good.  What is your opinion on it.  The screen shots on the website look alright.  However, it is so hard to tell after all the compression the files go through.

It looks great on the outside.

Thanks for the info... Grin

Codered,

Exterior is quite good. Interior I have a few minor quips about especially in the Warrior III. The VC cockpit graphics remind me more or less of a payware you might have bought 2 years ago, with the exception of a lot of clickable button eye candy. The textures are fuzzy, and not as well rendered as i had hoped, on things like seating, carpeting, and panelling on doors. The main problem I have is I am known for wanting to be a passenger, and sitting in the back seats. When you use active camera and move to the back, the front seats disappear as there is no seat backing rendered and even the rear seat disappears.

There does not seem to be any refelctive quality on the glass, and the little window door on the pilots side, opens but you couldnt tell except the door opens on what looks like an already glassless window.

I have raised these graphical issues on their website forum, so hopefully they will address them. Overall though, in essence you get 2 aircraft with ether pants, no pants, or front wheel pant only.

The cockpit in the Warrior II seems rendered a lot better, with the exception still of the carpet, door panelling, and seating. The guage cluster is quite good though.

The bottom line, is am I glad I bought it? Yes. Lots of variety, and love the fact that even things like overhead lighting has clickable switches, exterior has opening engine compartment with a vibrating engine when its running.

If I have time tonight I will take a couple of shots of the interior and the issues Im referring to, and post them here as well.

Let me also add too Codered, that for the price and variety you get from Aussim's Piper, its a good price considering ones such as Dreamfleet's Warrior, and Carenado, you only get one aircraft.

I do not have the Carenado Piper Dakota, but based on the Dreamfleet Piper, which has similar interior texturizing, for $25, if you want a low wing Piper, the Aussim is a good deal.

Excellente! Grin Thank you SaVas for the in depth description of the Warrior.  I have the Dreamfleet Piper Archer and the Carenado Dakota, and perhaps soon I will have the Aussim Warrior.  I can see that for $25, it is a deal with all the liveries and such.

If I get it, perhaps I can post my thoughts about it.
Thanks again.... Grin

OK, even though there are some little nuances I had issues with, I must say that I would still recommend this aircraft for purchase.

Why you ask?

SaVas, after reading your post and visiting the Aussim forum, I realized I couldn't live without the Warrior.  Afterall, I did my flight training in a Piper Warrior II, why not own one. Grin

My first impression of this aircraft is very good.  You are right about the improvements.  But for what it already is, this one is a winner.  I too would improve the VC textures, however the gauges are awesome. Grin  The sound is a bit lacking, but overall, not bad.  The exterior models are exactly how I remember the Warrior from my walk arounds.  All the clickable spots on the VC are pretty cool to.  Anyway here are my shots from my first flight. Coming in to Strom.

...

Put her away, but not for long.   This one is a real joy to fly. Grin

I have been really enjoying this aircraft. First impressions were not spectacular, but its grown on me and it to me is the best Piper class aircraft avail.

And now I understand the lack of rendering on the seats from the rear, for those with lower end machines, but then again he did say something about making a patch for high end users Grin

If anything, the customer support makes this plane worth the investment
