Hey Guys,

Has anybody here used Dogwaffle?

How does the Freeware version compare to the Commercial version?

Regards,

Update... Tried and Tested Grin

Not a bad program overall, it's got some nice features, the GUI is cool, and there are a lot of options, but you can only with with BMP and TGA files. If you want to use Jpegs as photoreal textures, you first need to use a program like PIXresizer to convert them into bitmaps. The layout is slightly different to Pixia and PSP. You have floating Toolbars (Can move to any part of the screen). Alpha's are supported. On the Dogwaffle website, layers were mentioned, but I couldn't find a Layer Palette or anything relating to Layers. You can vary the opacity of your brush/ airbrush though 8)

Regards,
Stratobat

Edit: I think I'll stick with PSP and Pixia Smiley

Thanks for the review! I had someone mention this program to me a week ago but yet to check it out.
I would like something with a low learning curve since I don't have a lot of time for "playing".
I have used PSP8 since its release and like it some but as for repainting I'm new to it and with PSP8 can't seem to get it figured out.
I had bought FSRepaint and am going to try it , seems easy but my problem is the repaints I have planned are not just simple color changes so I might actually be creating more of a learning curve for myself. Smiley

FSRepaint, in my opinion, is not a program to be used alone.  Imagine it to be a DXTbmp on steroids.  While you can do a complete repaint with FSRepaint, I use the default FSRepaint editor to first make the general outlines (align texture-crossing lines, etc) and the pass the texture to the painting program to use the enhanced tools.  Afterwords, I then use FSRepaint to paint the alpha channels directly, and point tweaks.
