ok, i dont know if this is the right place to post this question but here goes..i know its not real to have GPS in a WWII bird..but seen as though this is 2004 and not 1943 i suppose i could use the GPS...but how do i get it to show as many of my WWII birds dont have any buttons to click on...and i cant find any key assignments in FS2004 to bring it up...so if anyone knows if i can get the GPS to show in WWII birds...by either modifing something or something really simple..please share

Thanks

Well, this should have gone in the Panel/Scenery forum, but oh, well.

I would recommend that you find a very usefull program called CfgEdit, which is a visual panel editor.  It displays the panel along with all the gauges that are on the panel.  Unfortunately, it doesn't recognize XML gauges (the most common form in FS2004) but it will help you get the GPS in your cockpit.

Once you have the program, you can pretty much follow the directions that are given to add a gauge.  I suggest opening a panel that already has a GPS in it and looking at that setup.

http://www.cfgedit.com/ is where you can get it, and don't worry, its free. Wink

Pardon my ignorance but as i recall i 've added and changed the FS9 GPS in several FS9 panels using only Notepad. Here's some from my B350 panel.cfg

// gauge58=SimIcons!GPS Icon, 595, 5

// [Window02]
//size_mm=456,378
size_mm=545,354
window_size=0.5,0.3625
//window_size=0.5
position=8
BACKGROUND_COLOR=0,0,0
VISIBLE=0
ident=GPS_PANEL

//gauge00=fs9gps!gps_500,            0,0
gauge00=fs9gps!gps_295,            0,0

// [Window02]
// size_mm=456,378
// window_size=0.5
// position=8
// BACKGROUND_COLOR=0,0,0
// VISIBLE=0
// ident=GPS_PANEL

// gauge00=fs9gps!gps_500,            0,0

as mentioned, i know nothing about it but CAN get either GPS to work in any FS9 panel. it's just a matter of dicking around with the panel.cfg entries until the desired result is achieved . . . much like flying an airplane
