OK, a week or 2 ago I was bored and flipping through channels (couldn't find anything good to watch).  Anyway, I swicthed to channel 53 which is "FX" and they were showing that new TV show of theirs called "Rescue Me."  Well, its not really my kind of show (too over dramatized) but I was bored and watched the last 15 minutes of an episode.  Anyway, at the end of the episode (during the last scene before the credits) they were playing this song in the back ground which I liked but had never heard.  I went to the show's website and couldn't find any info about the song.  Well, a couple days later I noticed the same episode was on again and I managed to write down some of the stanzas from the song (they only played 1 verse).  Anyway, here is what I wrote down-its not complete (but should be close to in the right order).  Does anyone know song it comes from?:

Now, I'm sure that I missed a bunch of words along the way because this doesn't make a lot of sense (and I was trying to write as fast as I could and coudn't keep up).  I tried to seach google for the lyrics of a song that contain these phrases and couldn't come up with anything.  If anyone knows this song, would you please identify it for me (or know where I could look to find out what it is).  Thanks.
