Hi All,

I've read many discussions about people wanting an easier way to swap controllers without the hassle of changing assignments to avoid conflicts.

In my setup, I have a yoke and a stick. But the throttle and a few other axis' conflict and cause havok. To make things worse, FS tends to forget assignments while setting them or make default assignments I don't want.

After setting ALL controls to operate as I want, including SLEW functions, I created a master fs9.ori file.

Then I copied and renamed. One as fs9Yoke.cfg and the other to fs9Stick.cfg. I then reassigned the "non-functional" controllers buttons/axis' to null for both files.

I then created two batch files, UseYoke.bat and UseStick.bat which would copy the appropriate file as fs9.cfg.

Now, I have no problems swapping controllers. If you're interested in more details of what I've done, send me a PM or e-mail.

Joe

The procedure I use requires a fair amount of fs9.cfg file knowledge and editing. It also requires the Command Prompt. I don't know if WinXP (what most people use) has the cmd.exe file. If it doesn't, then I don't know how the batch files would work.

In addition, any modifications you make to the configuration settings within FS would have to be manually duplicated in the other .cfg file.

They both will work perfectly, until you open windows.

Hi Skittles, funny you should bring this up. I am running the Cougar Thrustmaster HOTAS throttle and Stick. I am also using CH Pro Pedals. The problem is the pedals never seam to steer the AC correctly on the runway. I have tried everything but every time I am rolling down the runway or just taxiing, it is a real nightmare to control the AC on the ground. I noticed last night that when playing with the calibration, that the X & Y axis when calibrating the pedals, seems to be wrong.
If I push a pedal 1 way, the axis should respond like it does, but if I push the other pedal the either way, shouldn't the SAME axis respond the opposite way. Should pedal 1 be on x axis and pedal 3 on y. They are going two totally different ways. And when calibrating, why is the center cross hair even moving. It is getting very annoying. Does this make sense Joe?

Thanks,
Dave

Can't tell by your sig what connection your pedals are, PC Game port or USB. Do they have toe brakes? Are your breaks having problems?

My pedals have the "rudder" on X and the toe brakes on Y. Left brake moves the crosshair up and right moves it down.

Are you using FSUIPC. Is it possible something there is mixing up the signals? Are you using the Windows calibration or CH's Calibration?
