Well my first night time shots with the 75-300mm didnt come out too well but i do like this shot of the moon.
This lense is rather difficult to use unless the light seems to be perfect, so i am a little worried how the airshow will turn out with it.

Don't forget the basic rule of thumb on long lenses......
"shutter speed number, equal to, or greater than, the focal length number "
.....300mm will require 1/300th of a sec or faster, so if the light level won't allow you to use an F-stop which matches this EV, then you will almost certainly have some motion blur in your shots (not necessarily a bad thing if you are panning as that gives the indication of speed to the subject ).........if you shoot on auto, then watch the numbers in the viewfinder if you have that ability on your camera......otherwise, use manual .......... 8)

Hagar has a point about the shutter speed and focal length, but he forgets one thing: the cropfactor of the 300D which is 1.6. so when shooting at 300mm, you'll need 1/300 x1.6=1/480s

I knew that Ken (Rifleman Ken).
Please don't get me wrong. It was my little joke. Very few people understand my sense of humour. It's often got me into trouble in the past.

Cool shot Craig, I think it turned out really well. All of the major features on the moon are clearly visible. I am supprised how well Tyho crater (near the bottom) came out in the photo-usually on pictures you don't see it very well (unless it was a professionally done one with an awesome camara). It looks nice.

Don't sweat it Doug, I was leaning towards your humor.....after all, I was born in South Sheilds you know !......in fact I still watch a bit of Coronation Street when I need a refresher on the "sound" of a Brit !
