I was taking a survey a few minutes ago and got to this question: "What song would you want played at your funeral"
Mines a toss up between "Time is on my side", "Free bird" and "Here comes the sun"
ps. I just happened to be listening to The Jam: "Going underground" at the time

I thought about J.S. Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D minor...
...?
But that's just too depressing, and I'm not the slightest bit religous...

So....
Bury me in a plywwod box, under a tree, and let everyone raise a glass, and dance to anything by the Rolling Stones....Brown Sugar...Satisfaction...etc...

LOL...LOL...LOL...

Cheers all...

I've always thought that "A Tout Le Monde" by Megadeth would be the perfect song to be played at my funeral.
It's about saying goodbye and the line "Smile when you think of me...my body's gone, that's all..." is perfect.
I get the feeling my wife would not play it, though. But I'll be dead and won't care anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter...

Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd.
Quote:
Hello.
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me.
Is there anyone home?
Come on, now.
I hear you’re feeling down.
Well I can ease your pain,
Get you on your feet again.
Relax.
I need some information first.
Just the basic facts:
Can you show me where it hurts?
There is no pain, you are receding.
A distant ship’s smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I can’t hear what you’re sayin’.
When I was a child I had a fever.
My hands felt just like two balloons.
Now I got that feeling once again.
I can’t explain, you would not understand.
This is not how I am.
I have become comfortably numb.
Ok.
Just a little pinprick. [ping]
There’ll be no more --aaaaaahhhhh!
But you may feel a little sick.
Can you stand up?
I do believe it’s working. good.
That’ll keep you going for the show.
Come on it’s time to go.
There is no pain, you are receding.
A distant ship’s smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I can’t hear what you’re sayin’.
When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse,
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone.
I cannot put my finger on it now.
The child is grown, the dream is gone.
I have become comfortably numb.

Nice choice, teh bag-pipes really bring out the sentiment in that song...
Though I would prefer my electric guitar rendition of Amazing grace...
And no it's not heavily distorted guitar music either...
I have the e-bow for my electric which gives it more of a bow like tone such as from a violin, etc. depending on how your rig is set up..

Goodbye, sunshine, I’ve put it out again, sad
I’m over, personalities, conflicting, I don’t need you, or anyone, but me, I’ll just be, living
My own life
I feel my glowing center grow, infecting
I feel alive
Shovel dirt over lime, plant it in myself to sit like a seed under covers of earth and just be
Sinners, pointing fingers at me
I... I stand, (for nothing), not crawling, (by myself), not falling down
I... I bleed, (for no one), the demons, (but myself), that drag me down
I... I stand, (for nothing), not crawling, (the center), not falling down (of calms within the eye)
I... I’ll bleed, (for no one), the demons, (but myself), that pull me down (for me and no one else)
And it is the best song ever 8)

I would have a very dark, depressing, concert piece followed by Herp Alpert's "Spanish Fleet"-make people confused while they walked out

I've never really thought about it, but off the top of my head, I think "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" from Monty Python's "Life of Brian" would be appropriate. For the wake, hell: anything goes, as long as it's a real party and somebody spills beer into the casket...

I don't really know even it is something I have thought about years ago. I guess it is a difficult decision because it is the biggest chance in someone's life (...) to give a message which everyone will pay attention to.
I don't know what kind of message I would want to leave then but if it was for now I guess ai would choose something classic. Maybe Mozart's Lacrimosa.

Some thought into this now LOL. Probably walking in memphis a pick me up song, i dont want my death to be all sombre plus it holds alot of emotion that song. That or If your gone by matchbox twenty. Depends on if i die happy or sad.
But as i am being carried away in my coffin the entrance theme for the undertaker, very dark piece of music to bring everyone down. MUhahahah.
