Hi SimV payware addicts..... uhmmmm..... folks.

I finally "broke down" and bought Emma Field 2004............which is not an inexpensive add-on.  Have to say that the visuals and special effects are stunning!  Amazing to see cars drive in and park, gliders launching, and particularly birds flying around.

However...... I am having significant sound problems with it as soon as I installed it.... in spite of the fact that my DXdiag direct sound reports are all perfect....... and I don't have ANY other sound issues on the machine with any programs.

The background environmental sounds from the field (dogs, Fritz hammering, air wrench, cars, birdies, and so on) do not end when I leave Emma Field!  In fact... I can go to a new flight in a different aircraft and different place and start it and there the Emma Field sounds all are!   Like when I am sitting in a 747 on the active at KBOS (Boston's Logan) and hearing nice little country-type GA sounds in the background.

NOT good.  Tongue

Those sounds don't stop until I exit fs2004 completely.

I have been in contact with Alex at Lago and they had me replace a number of dll's from the current payware download direct off their own site with a set of new dll's that they say are now the current ones (Caveat Emptor).

Those changes may have fixed another intermittent issue I had.... that my ATC sound and ability to activate the ATC menu options completely disappeared when in the air........ only starting in the Emma Field environment.  Haven't tried it enough yet to be sure it is fixed.

But the dll changes didn't fix the background sounds issue at all.

Anyone else having this kind of issue with it?

best,

......................john

Only sound issues I have had are slight. The guitarist on weekends plays silent music now. I dont hear his little diddy anymore.

And second, while in external view flying who knows where, every once in a blue moon I get an intermittent Emma Field sound file chirp

I wish that guitarist would keep playing.

Oh and it seems to me I read a few threads on their forum about the issue you are having John. Have you perused those as well?
