I usualy fly in 4X. That way it is not too fast but not too slow that it takes me a long time to go short distances. Plus reading ATC and seeing AI is easier as well.

How fast do you sim?

I usually fly at normal rate.  If on a long flight with autopilot engaged I'll go to 4X till I get close to my destination then drop back to 1X.

Depends on the distence and for what purpose.  If its a short hop then real time, If its for my VA real time reqardless of distence, and if its a personal non logged flight over longer distances then...auto pilot, direct gps, 16x.      5000 miles flys when its at 16x Roll Eyes

i just got done with  7 hour flight for my VA the other night.  7 hours, nonstop, real time...      though   not at my desk for most of it      just stopped in to get any clearences i needed.

Real time, but I really only fly around the UK an certain parts of Europe usually in a fighter at ridiculously low altitudes or maybey 200 miles or so in a classic jet like a Meteor, Vampire or Lightning.

99% of time, I fly real time ! To me real time on "sim" seems slower than REAL TIME ON REAL AIRCRAFT.
When I fly on a real Cessna 172 it seems we get to our destination much faster. I haven't actually timed it to compare, but I guess real flying would pass by quicker since there is much more stimulie to the brain.
Has anyone timed real time on "sim" to REAL Flying time?

Regards,

Chief

I only really feel a difference if I'm flying the plane, if I'm a passenger I get incredibly bored  Roll Eyes

FS 2002. GA aircraft, VFR only.

I only do short hops with frequent stops for fuel, etc, so I always fly in real time, eg: 1x.... 8)...!
..any thing faster than that is for Star Wars fans... Wink...!
