I am new to this site and would first like to say hi to you all.

Now, my ?
Sad ??? I have downloaded flight assistant from simvationand have MS speech 5.1 installed as well. I have run the training sessons and have all working in that dept. Flight assistant opens and I can turn it on. But in FS2004 I can not get it to work. Since this is not AutoCAD I am stumped as to fix the prob. Anyone have ideas?

Cheers
Brent

Have you downloaded and added the Common Files?

What do computers and air conditioners have in common?...
They both will work perfectly, until you open windows.

I just added them, thank you. Unfortunatly I am still having a no go with it. I can't figure it out. I assume my PC ran it correctly because it auto loaded and installed the files for me.

get the version from the web site it has a number for fsuipc. and it support fsuipc 3.30
http://www.thelindercompany.de/

the version on the web site is getting old.

it work well. I programmed addionnal fonction and the responce is very good. i dont have to reach my keyboard now to answer ATC, I just say contact tower, option 1 contact tower again. voila it opened the atc windows selected option one in the reply choice and close the windows again. you can use the wording that you like. and the assistant will reply what ever you typed in the config.

OK, I checked it out. I have taken it off of default and put it onto Microsoft Speech recognizer v5.1 and I still get the blah blah thing with either a "the" or "you" in it? Maybe a prob with the download? The recognition works on my PC dictator, just not for flight sim.

What selection do you have for your Voice Selection. To locate this, open Control Panel / Speech / Text To Speech tab.

I find if I have Sample TTS Voice selected, I get the "blah, blah, blah" from Flight Assistant. The sample text in "Use the following text to preview the voice" will work, but it wont work in FA.

If this is not the problem, then I don't know.

By the way, Welcome to Simviation Forums.

Flight Assistant from the Linder Company
http://www.thelindercompany.de/
You're not really speaking to ATC. You're giving voice commands to FA which then produces keystrokes. So instead of pressing "~" & "1" to open the ATC window and select the first option I would say "Show ATC" and "One".
You can have FA act as a co-pilot to engage or disengage most features, Autopilot, flaps, landing gear. The "Co-pilot" will then respond verbally to you.

It all depends on how it is configured.

Skittles,

I don't know about "Flight Assistant" but I use "Voicemaster" (payware) and in your example above ..... I would say something more like "Tower this is.... " or "Center, this is "... and the ATC window pops open.   Instead of "One" it might be "Please say again."

If you load in the voice tags correctly for the various ATC keypresses.... it really works pretty well to emulate actually talking to ATC.  Wink  Not sure if Flight Assistant supports this though.

So saying.....

"Center, this is Cessna N74JF. Please say again."

....opens the atc fuinction and selects option number 2.

best,

Yeah, I do that with "Check in", "Have the traffic" and others. I was giving simple examples.

One thing that screws me up though, the responses to traffic calls under IFR and VFR are different. I decided to use VISUAL and NEGATIVE VISUAL for VFR and HAVE THE TRAFFIC and DON'T HAVE THE TRAFFIC for IFR.
