does anyone know where i can find the best version of the an-2 for fs2002? Preferably with a good custom panel and detailed graphics...  Grin

I just downloaded one but it was a bit crappy, no autopilot and cheap graphics  Sad I'm planning island hopping in the Caribbean with a classic passenger aircraft 8) and bi-planes look great

please help!

Anton Nikolaev does the best one.  www.xomer.narod.ru is his (rather poor) website and it is also available at www.avsim.com. ; It's truly stunning as is the rest of his work.  He works slowly but it is worth the wait.

wow, thanks for the an2, that was quick. The version is awesome, great detail  Grin

but i have one slight problem with it........... i haven't managed to start the engine  Sad  hehehehehe  everything on the panel is in russian and there isnt any pop up text to tell you what the gauge or switch is when u keep the cursor over it.   ???

i tried Ctrl+E (engine autostart) but the prop only rotates slightly but doesnt start. I tried playing around with switches and levers, but that didnt help. There are 3 levers next to the throttle lever which i have no idea what they are, one red, one blue and another one is green. so much for old aeroplanes... hehehe

Darn, now I come to think of it I had the same problems and solved them by substituting my own AIR,and CFG files plus the panel from another AN2!  I think he has optimsed his original files for FS9.

These days I get so used to having to modifying almost all the aircraft I download I virtually do it in my sleep.

Do you use FS2004?
If so, get the FDE update
Panel does work, you only have to find out which of the switches you need to use (and i think that one needed FS2004 updates too)

this should fix it (possibly needs some panel.cfg editing)
Panel needs an operating manual though...

You could briefly try the basic Cessna panel.  If it works then you know it's a gauge on the original...

'Trouble is, I'm sure I tried this myself, gave up and did my own AIR and CFG files (plus a panel from another AN2, Peter Conran's one, perhaps?).

Sadly, MY aircraft is no longer original so I'm no use as a yardstick.

Use a different panel in the meantime, but you'll lose the VC in that way.
Starting the thing with the original panel is a nice challenge, but rewarding

what do i have to do to use the panel from Peter Cronan's An-2? Just copy and paste the panel folder or do i have to edit cfg and air files?? if it's too complicated forget it. I'll use the default cessna panel.

Easiest and safest way is to rename the original Panel folder to something like xPanel, this will disable it.  Then just drop the new panel folder in its place.  No editing of CFG file needed.

I do it all the time to test stuff.

Er, did you get my email BTW?

I offered to send you replacement files..
