One of my little minor "pet peeves" with fs2004 was that at night when there are a lot of AI aircraft around along with yours....... all the beacons and strobes flashed in unison.  This is NOT how it happens in the real world last time I checked.  (Of course, I have never been to Redmond...... so maybe that is how things work out there in M$ land  Wink .)

Today by accident and not looking for it, I stumbled across a little 4K file by Scott Gridley.  It replaces four fx_ files in the FS2004 main effects folder (back them up).  It works WONDERS on the reality of the night sky!

Do a "Google" on the combination "Scott Gridley" and "strobe"... or search for "asynchronous_strobes_effects.zip".  That should give you about 4-5 sources.

Hope this helps someone else make things closer to "as real as it gets".   Grin

best,
