I don't know why I never noticed this before , probably because I was so busy trying to deal with everything else in IL-2.
I'm pretty impressed with IL-2's flight dynamics. It just seems like it has solved some issues that MS sims have never resolved.
Finally, I can ease an aircraft up into a gentle climb, cut the the power, hold the nose gently up, and start a ruddered turn while crossing the aileron control the opposite direction to hold the wings level, (the classic.... You're asking for it... spin setup!) and hey! presto! a spin ensues.
No spiral dives, no wierd stuff, just a nice spin with classic recovery behaviour..... Very Nice!
I also love the high speed stall characteristics, where you get a radical wing drop when that inner wing loses it's grip due to excess angle of attack during a high G turn in Combat situations, it really bites when that ME109 is on yer six! WHOOPS!
As an aside, I ran task manager from the desktop while IL-2 was minimised and the plane was crashed in trees, some WinXP services were shut down and no other programs running.
The RAM commit charge was 690mb on my PC with about 400mb free.
