The last couple of nights when I exit FS2002, I lose my mouse curser on the screen. I can't even shut down my computer with ctr-alt-delete.  The desk top stays frozen. What do you think is happening? I have NOT upgraded to SP2.

I am running XP, Pent4 2.80 gig, 512 mem.

Thanks,

Chief

I too have experienced this over the last two years - not consistently, but occassionally.

I have found it most reliable to exit the flight to the main menu, then exit FS2002 from there. When i have attempted to exit FS2002 directly from a flight, my system seems more prone to locking up.

Before i updated my graphics driver i went through a phase of it crashing every time i closed FS2002 - i think this was caused by the switch back to normal mode from the 3D/Fullscreen mode which FS2002 uses taking place whilst the program was simultaneously trying to close. I found i could prevent this by manually making the switch to standard mode using Alt+ENTER and then shutting down FS2002. This has stopped happening since i updated my graphics driver a while back though.

Perhaps try any of the above and see if it helps?

Actually, you have a point there. Mine does lock more when I exit from a flight with CTRL C, and I have a diferent resolution set for FS.
