Was that whale all by himself? Orcas usually travel around in pods or groups. Your lucky to see him get that close to the dock, what a sight! Great pics! 8)

Well, that appears to be Luna. He's a male orca who was stranded by his family and has been alone in Vancouver for awhile. Looks as if you had quite a close encounter!

The people say that he is really friendly, but I think that there could be a huge problem when he becomes an adult... I must admit it was really cool to be so close to it though.......... Grin
