I was thinking of starting a Blue Angels team on the internet. Not a VA, but just a club that would meet on weekends. We could have airshows if possible. TeamSpeak would be required. Base would of course be Pensacola, FL. What you guys think? ??? It would meet at the zone. For FS2002-2004

Such things have been suggested before. As always I would suggest a TCP/IP connection.

Hey, thanks about the video. 8) I'd certainly be up for trying something like that out... although would have to be some way other than Zone, as it doesn't work on the school's network.
Count me in.

Appears we have enough for a diamond formation, we could always give it a try on an IP game, which is near same to the zone.

I think we should start small, with just the four in the diamond formation to a) make sure it is even possible, and b) make sure we don't get "too big too fast". If this thing takes off (pardon the pun), then maybe we can "audition" some others....we'd also need a Fat Albert pilot.

Just an update for those interested, Boss, myself and AJ (Presumably #3?) have been practicing recently and will soon open up the hangar for anyone interested in trying out. Stay tuned for details!

lol...yeah...I watched a thing on TV about them, and what we'll need to do is have the wings of the diamond be in VC looking at the side of the lead's aircraft. the back will look at either side and hold on a point...this is going to take a while
1 1-flies normally
2 3 2- watches right side of 1
4 3- watches left side of 1
4- watches left of 2 and/or right of 3
I think we'll use
http://www.simviation.com/fs2004military61.htm
these textures on an F-18E...and we'll have Fat Albert if we get enough people....what do you think?

Actually, 2 is on the right wing and 3 is on the left. You're thinking of the Thunderbirds.
BTW, there already is a Virtual Blue Angels, but they dont use FS. They use Lock-On.
Here is their website........it is currently down, but they are re-doing their website.

You can view their movie that was released this summer here:

Rhino
PS- I would suggest you all make sure you have the best connections possible. This has been tried in FS before and it simply can not be done due to the horrible net code.

The VBA in Lock-on are amazing. I highly doubt we'd be able to be that good, and if the rest of the guys think we will be, maybe I'm the wrong person for a slot.
I agree that FS9 is pretty bad for multiplayer flight, but you might as well try.

The reason the VBA are so good, is because of LOMAC's insanely awesome flight model update speed. FS9 is literally hundreds of times slower, even on the best rig. One suggestion I have if you guys are still planning on setting this up, is get TrackIR
Makes the work load MUCH less than it would be without (using POV hats, +/- to zoom, etc etc). Good luck with this if you do go through with it all the way though!
