Yes what's going on this. Its my first question about an issue of display that its being bugin me for a long time, why when i set in customise weather fully cloud heavy rain visibility in  quater mille after and before take off everything looks ok no visibitity but when i pass over 8000 feet the cloudy visibility(practicly none)disappear but that not a problem, the problem is that i can see down clearly like a summer day with a few clouds instead a big carped white that supposed be shown and not let in me see anything down i hate this behaviour specialy in IRF and when i get down suddenly my vision becomes white again,i like realistic as a chalenges if you know what i mean ???

Hi ALROT... Grin...!

On FS 2002, when I set up the custom cloud types/formations/weather conditions, etc, this will often change almost instantly during flight, from overcast, to clear blue skies.
The weather doesn't change slowly over a period of time.
I think it's just the way that the Flight Sim works.
...at least in FS 2002... Wink...!

The only way I find the changing weather to be more realistic, and gradual, is by using "Weather Maker"....>>>>

Cheers ALROT...!

Paul.

P.S. ..Weather Maker Personal Edition version 1.4 is a free download...a simple program, and highly recommended.... Grin...!

There is info on how the weatehr is handled in FS2004 in the SDK.  Basically the weather happens in "cells".  The cells are rectalinear.  Apparently they do not "blend" into each other at the junctures.  Fly thru the edge of one weather "cell" into another.... and suddenly it changes.

I hate this aspect too...... it is SO unrealistic.

best,
