Right, before you fall out of your chairs laughing, I KNOW my system is old, but once it wasn't!!!

My Processor is a Celeron 700
My RAM is 512mg PC100
My m/board is AX34 (AOpen)
My graphics card is an ATI Radeon 7200. 64mg
Both card and board are AGP 4x
However, when I go into the Setup and change it from 2x to 4x I get a blank screen after initial boot up.

I AM building a new comp, but would like to know what this problem is caused by, partly because I will have to use this ATI card in the new machine owing to cash crisis.

Well hopefully it is your mobo causing this.  Did you go into your mobo's BIOS and ensure the AGP acceleration is set to 4x or enabled? could be somthing like this causing it.

Most modern mobo's support up to 8x so with your new one you shouldn't have to many problems.

Thanks Gixer,
Will check it out. As you say, most mobo's are 8x. Fingers crossed

Maybe it's just the BIOS on that mainboard, Hopefully it's not switching voltages, at any rate, the new rig should be fine.
