I would like to use the single jet engine guage in the 737-400 guage set and create 3 independent guages for a 727 I am working on. Tried to load 3 guages, but none worked. I suspect I will have to do a little hacking, but don't know where to start.  I am currently using analog engine guages which don't lend much to my digital panel. Anyone out there know how I can set these guages up? Any help will be greatly appreciated

I am not sure why you want to use a 737 gauge set for the 727, esp since there are quite a few good 727 engine gauges out there.
I am not sure how you can create three seperate gauges. Even if you added one the other two would still be linked. You might want to think about using a single engine jets gauge it might be easier to make three of them. But the trick is going to be tieing them to each engine.
Lots of luck

OK, I am trying to use a single guage from the 737 guage set for 3 independent jet engines. When I tried to insert these 3 guages into the panel they didn't work,
obviously because the quages aren't properly tagged or coded. I am trying to enter the correct code for each engine and would like to know how I can get into the parameters of each guage for modification.

Lots of luck with that one. I do not even know where to begin.
I have purchased a panel editer that says it can make a new gauge but I have not tried using it yet. I know that I would need a bitmap for the new gauge. This might do the trick but not sure.
I thought you might have a problem tying the gauge to the engine I really do not know how this is done.

you do know a 727 is always analog right?

Ok, since you using digital gauges I take it your not worried about realism in the panels appearance.  I am not all tha familure with the 727 but it sounds like its a 3 engine job, thats your first problem

The 737 is a twin engine of cource and its guages are all hard coded dll's (*.gau files).  This means they are a compiled C program and unless you can get ahold of the source code, modifie and compile that, there is not tweaking with them.

I would recommend taking a look at the 747 gauges in in fs2004.  this is an XML gauge set supporting multipal engines.  Because its an XML you can tweak these to make them work for you.

Or just fine an old three+ engined jet (a B-52 would work) and get the gauges from it...that would work nice. They are analog though, and God knows that would just KILL your oh so wonderful non-existant unrealistic digital panel

737 engine gauges are all represented in lcd readouts.  There's a lot of people out there doing un-realistic things.  Heck, I just downloaded a 1049 Connie.  Excellent reproduction except for one glaring thing.  Right in front of me under where the yoke column would be is an older model bendix king ap. Even though I'm 20 years too young to know first hand about connies I know darn well they wern't equipped with bendix king ap's.  Needless to say it didn't take me long to borrow a Sperry ap from one of my classic jetlinersand install it as a pop-up.  The radios are in the overhead but soon I will do a search on airliners.com and see if I can see where they actually were on a connie and what was actually in the overhead and fix that part of the panel to.
Do a search on the various file libraries.  You can find many excellent 727's.  I know of one that unless you are a pro, you won't top it.  Paul Golding's panel is only exceded by Captain Sims commercial version.  Also, there are L1011's and DC-10's. any of which could be adapted for  727.
